@CLEGoated @SadOSUhoopsFan Pippen is a better fit with Mobley than Wright or Johnson would be. They needed a PG with length that could defend multiple positions and facilitate because Mobley is a scorer that can’t guard long players. Hopefully they add some quality bench pieces now too though.

@dgrimm_23 I’ve been saying the same about Wright, but I don’t think either is the ideal fit to be honest. What we need is a PG with length and athleticism to pair with Mobley that can guard multiple positions on D and attack and facilitate on offense.

If it came down to Wright or Haralson I lean Haralson by a lot. Wright plays no defense and doesn’t compliment Mobley at all. We can’t have an even smaller backcourt next year. Mobley Haralson (6’7”) AT (6’8”) Bynum (6’8”) Josh O (6’10”)

@JoeySmoke14 I don’t think Wright is much of a defender and doesn’t have much size. Also not a facilitator. Can score, but it creates a similar pairing to what we just had with Thornton and Mobley. Wouldn’t be mad, but wouldn’t break the bank bc it’s not the ideal fit with Mobley style-wise

@BoominBuckeyes Let’s do a reverse Gayle with Pippen. Would seem to fit well with Mobley in the backcourt. Vanterpool is also intriguing. Has to be a PG/comb guard with some length and athleticism to pair with Mobley. Needs to be able to guard multiple positions and handle/facilitate on offense

@Reds44Fan @Nati_Sports He had a pretty good season until the latter part. Played a big role on the team. Certainly was not their most valuable player though. I don’t hate Friedl at all. He’s been a good Red. Let’s just not make him more than what he is.

Krall really needs to take a note from Arnold’s book & be prepared to trade off assets that are trending downward to replenish (Friedl) + way more players we let continue to play horribly Should’ve been replaced a few seasons ago really.

@CBoxSports Marte in the lineup against a RHP for the second time, so everyone can calm down now. He’s going to get opportunities against both, it just worked out early that we saw several lefties. Still think he could be sent down in a week or two after his bobblehead night though.

@RedsDaily4 I think it’s more about Benson’s splits honestly and Friedl’s struggles. Not another good option against LHP. Either Marte or Friedl have to be in there right now. As long as he doesn’t play both against a lefty often like he did on Opening Day, then we gotta live w/one

During Spring Training, Terry Francona openly acknowledged that Marte has struggled against left-handed pitching. Which makes the decision to have Marte almost exclusively facing lefties to start the season one of the more puzzling moves so far.

@Reds @PNCBank This is a Noelvi Marte reverse splits post. Tito is effectively doing a Benson/Marte platoon makes ZERO sense when they both hit RHP better.

@OSUHoopsInsider Quality over quantity. Spend on two pieces: an athletic PG with length that can run, jump, and handle the ball. Then a Center that will rebound the heck out of the ball and be a force and presence underneath. You can fill in from there, assuming Mobley is back.
