@mr_Alsheimer Classroom management is a combination of many things. Let's stop trying to boil it down to one thing and acknowledge the hard work teachers do everyday to successfully facilitate learning and growth.

The best classroom management is an engaging lesson.

Engaging student voice is not just being willing to hear what students have to say. It's about reimagining and transforming education in response to what students have to say. If all we're doing is hearing what they have to say, we're manipulating, not engaging.

For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us. And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.

I did a thing today!

I am slowly cleaning the nose prints of my very loved, recently departed dog off of the walls, and if I’m going to make it through this I’m going to need to see the noses on every single one of your pets.

@jleung10 @Rowdylibr @Terminix Freckle had one good year of mousing in my old apartment. I had to create an entire clean up system because otherwise I wouldn't be able to handle it.

@jleung10 In my usual "is there anything else you'd like to share?" question at the end of weekly check-in, I had one student tell me I was his favorite teacher and another one thank me for being a good teacher. Feels good when things seem so bleak.

I introduced my 8th graders to Wordle today. They love it. I just need to do my own before they get to school. They do not keep the answer a secret.

@cendarcy My cohort always joke that our dissertations will forever have an asterisk next to it to indicate that it was done during a pandemic. It's a whole other level of hell.
