@JustanHenner I've seen a documentary on it. I see it every time I drive to LV (I live in LA). Always wanted to stop and investigate the area.

Fun Fact: I've been here. I live in California and have seen this on the way to and from Las Vegas. I can only tell you this because it didn't actually happen in Vegas.

Fantasy Pro tip: Name your ancient evil something unpronounceable so fans can argue about how to pronounce it in comment sections for decades or whether it drew inspiration from a long-abandoned hippie wellness scam. Free engagement. You’re welcome.

Blockbuster wasn’t “paradise.” Half the movies were out of stock, you’d get hit with late fees, and renting anything took actual effort. But I think the effort is the point.
Humans value what costs us something. The ritual (the drive, the aisles, the out-of-stock movies, the weird guy lingering in the B-horror section, the choosing, the return slots that were a crapshoot if your return got recorded, all of it) made movies feel like an event. Convenience gave us everything at our fingertips … except somehow the magic went away.

@JPWAuthor What do you think I based Victor on?
Well that and Pulp action heroes. He's got a little bit of that Indiana Jones DNA in him but also Aragorn and Thancred.

@JPWAuthor I've always preferred Wayne's vision. The Spaghetti Western wasn't an American vision of the American West.
It's fun to watch occasionally but not my preference. That is why Wayne remains so classic, and his Westerns so watchable.

John Wayne’s cowboys were the pure American hero: tall in the saddle, code of honor, always the good guy riding off into the sunset. Clint Eastwood flipped the script to morally gray drifters with no name, no mercy, and a nasty glare. The Western never really returned.
Which do you prefer?
As much as I enjoy Clint's work, I miss the heroic cowboy-knight.
