The 4 Nations Face-Off and Winter Olympics in back to back NHL seasons has been a Vitamin B12 shot into NHL HRR and broadcast ratings. With the cap jumping at least $30 Million over next 3 years, we are hurtling towards hockey’s version of the Big Bang.

@BoltsBreakdown Not suggesting we do anything big to the Core. But is it a concern that by next year’s playoffs, in order to have playoff success - aside from Hagel we’re expecting forwards to replicate what they did in playoffs 5-7 years ago? Is that asking too much?

@BoltsJolts Panthers missing playoffs on my list. As lousy a season they are having, I’d take any of these inexperienced Atlantic teams over FL in round one.

I really only care about three things for the rest of the season. Kucherov continuing to kill it and overtaking Mac and Mc to win another Art Ross. Making the playoffs (don’t care what seed). Having a healthy roster ready for Game 1. That’s it.

Playing the second half of a back to back on the road, against a really good team playing their first game since the break, and with your backup goalie who hasn't played in a month, there's no shame in last night's loss. They showed tons of heart battling back. In the three-year existence of the DCG, today's iteration is the first of its kind. ❌
