Extend Maternity Leave 2020
Extend Maternity Leave 2020@matleave2020·
@JRuanaidh Hi Jenny. We are trying to get clarification. It seems it has been granted but not until April 2021, which doesn't really help our parents. We had been told that it was to be extended for the 1st 2 years of a child's life but that's also not clear from today. @rodericogorman

The extension to maternity leave is not idealistic, it is essential - ⁦@laurholland⁩ writes about how the extension is essential for women, to transition back into the workforce, and also to avail of vital services they haven’t been able to access. herfamily.ie/pregnancy/mate…

These people are running our country. Running it into the ground more like. Nothing short of a circus. It's comical really isn't it.... Embarrassing. @EamonRyan @greenparty_ie

2020, in the midst of a global Pandemic and we may aswell be living in the 1900s, the way we are being treated. How and why are Irish Citizens letting this government, which none of us voted for, dictate to us in the manner that they are. #ExtendMatLeave2020 @matleave2020 @NWCI

@EamonRyan your beginning to start a trend, seen as this is now your second time in a matter of weeks in Government, to fall asleep on the job and be photographed. Literally shows the interest you have in the matters been discussed. It's great to fall asleep at the taxpayers cost
Agnes@ag_agii

This is how serious @EamonRyan takes his new position in the government! We just had a vote on #ExtendMatLeave2020 that he might as well slept through with his ignorance! I am ashamed to have ye & those 14 women who didn't vote yes in the government! @matleave2020 @greenparty_ie

@greenparty_ie @fiannafailparty @FineGael An absolute disgrace what happened this evening. The Taoiseach and Tánaiste didn't even have the manners to show up and vote. Goes to show their regard on mothers and babies. As long as your pockets are lined and ye are looked after..
Agnes@ag_agii

@greenparty_ie @fiannafailparty @FineGael shame on you! This is absolute disgrace! I know ye have gotten thousands of emails over last few weeks, asking, begging, telling you to support #ExtendMatLeave2020 I hope you can sleep at night after ignoring pleas of 30k women! #Shameful

@MichealMartinTD - as per your own words and promises to Irish Mothers and Babies. "We will continue to raise these matters with both Ministers and will do our utmost to advocate on behalf of the many women in a similar situation to yourself" (ref email 25/05/20) @matleave2020

@LeoVaradkar you said you would give the Maternity Benefit Extension serious thought before leaving power. You did nothing. Do the right thing and vote YES to support the Motion for extension of this later today. Please help us Leo. #ExtendMatLeave2020 @matleave2020
