We're now seeking Supreme Court review of my case after the Third Circuit Court of Appeals declined to rehear it in a 6-5 split. This fight is about whether the government can detain and deport people for their speech. It can't end here. nytimes.com/2026/05/22/nyr…

As someone who has been part of this trailblazing coalition from day 1, I was proud to relaunch the Not on Our Dime bill yesterday alongside our new Assembly co-sponsor @DianaForQueens and our leading Senate co-sponsor @JabariBrisport. This bill is designed to cut off the flow of money from NYS to fund Israeli war crimes in Palestine. As a Palestinian who’s witnessed many politicians sit silently on the sidelines during an ongoing genocide these past 3 years, it’s heartening to see the momentum of interest in this bill now. There’s a groundswell of support for this bill in our community and for candidates who consistently take action against war and injustice. Not On Our Dime is just the beginning. In the State Senate, I will take action to ban land sales, fight against buffer zone laws, and target illegal military shipments sent through NY airports.

It's not just federal taxes funding Israeli apartheid. In NY, so-called charities funneling cash to illegal settlements and attacks on Palestinians get a state subsidy. The Not On Our Dime Act ends it. Proud to stand with @DianaforQueens and @JabariBrisport at today's relaunch.

From NY-13 to Palestine we should be investing in the lives of our babies and not in the bombs that destroy them. That's why I'm proud to support the @notonourdimeny campaign.
Not On Our Dime@notonourdimeny

The Not on Our Dime! Act is back. @DianaforQueens and @JabariBrisport just re-launched the push to end New York tax breaks for organizations funding war crimes in Palestine. Take action at notonourdime.com/takeaction.

When many others stayed silent, @BernieSanders stood against wars from Vietnam to Iraq. I also deeply appreciate how he has become increasingly outspoken about Israel’s occupation of Palestine and the genocide in Gaza. Senator Sanders’ endorsement means a great deal to me, especially at a moment when the boundaries of what’s possible in US politics have expanded — from democratic socialism to Palestinian liberation. I’m proud to carry that work forward and continue building the movement he helped ignite in the State Senate. 🎥: @r0mkeh

At least two New Yorkers – Rosa Martinez and Alex Colston – are among the hundreds of activists Israel seized from the Global Sumud Flotilla and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition that was sailing to Gaza. Release them now. End the blockade. Free Palestine. The flotilla was a humanitarian mission to break the illegal blockade and the genocide on Gaza. Earlier today, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir posted a video taunting and verbally abusing dozens of detainees, most with their hands zip-tied behind their backs and foreheads pressed into the ground. Everything about Israel’s actions is illegal under international law: the blockade, the assault on a humanitarian mission in international waters, the unlawful detention and abuse of civilians and of course, the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. As long as the United States sponsors and facilitates this impunity, it will continue. It’s up to us to end it now.

Mazel tov to @chrisrabb, Democratic Primary winner in PA-03! Rep. Rabb ran a people-powered, grassroots campaign. He was the only candidate in the race to call Israel’s actions a genocide - and that kind of moral clarity is exactly why he won.

It took eight tries, but the Senate, with Bill Cassidy flipping after losing his primary, has just voted to advance a resolution to limit Trump's War on Iran. Even with it advancing, John Fetterman still voted against it.
Prem Thakker@prem_thakker

BREAKING: The Senate has voted to *advance* the Iran War Powers Resolution, 50-47 Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul, and Bill Cassidy joined Democrats to advance the resolution on Trump's war. John Fetterman was the only Democrat to join Republicans against advancing it.

I am heartbroken and horrified by the shooting that took place today at the Islamic Center of San Diego. This targeting of a place of worship cannot be separated from decades of hateful, dehumanizing, Islamophobic rhetoric that fuels senseless violence. My prayers are with the families of the victims, the San Diego Muslim community, and everyone who is feeling pain and fear in the wake of this tragedy.

We are proud to have sponsored last night’s Jewish Heritage Month and Shavuot celebration at Gracie Mansion honoring the diversity of Jewish New Yorkers. We’re especially proud of @NYCMayor for uplifting the voices of Palestinians this past Nakba Day with an incredibly moving video of a Nakba survivor.
