When you hear about shooting variance, it's almost always about 3-point shooting. But what about 2-point luck or variance? There may not be a better example of that than Iowa's upset over Florida. Florida has one of the best 2-point defenses in the country and Iowa consistently finished through very good vertical contests. As @johngasaway noted, Iowa’s 70% two-point shooting was the highest number by any UF opponent in four years.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But if could re-seed the South region based on what was actually *accomplished* in the regular season, you could make an argument for: 1 Houston 2 Illinois 3 Nebraska 4 Florida There should just never be a 1-seed with 7 losses. Never.

In my opinion, this should have resulted in an ejection on Iowa. Just because someone plans a crime, but is unsuccessful, are they let go? This is a clear strike attempt, with a closed fist. I think the rulebook would support an ejection here imo.

That really was a perfect play by Iowa. Hough has to respect the possibility that Stirtz might drive. Condon has to stay near the rim if Stirtz drives. So when he kicks, Condon has to close out from underneath. Florida, meanwhile, did not have a perfect play.
