@lkr I feel like it's one thing to tidy up a bit if it's mentioned in the house manual and there's no cleaning fee. If there's a cleaning fee, I shouldn't be expected to do anything.

Just jumping on the airbnb has crazy expectations bandwagon - two recent reviews said we left the house in an "acceptable" state, another "reasonable" state. We always tidy up the house when we leave, but yes we aren't fully cleaning it.

Best tool for spitting out personalized *videos* to include in a cold sales email? As in I record a 60 second video for each recipient and the thumbnail is enough to engage them in the video and get a response. Loom? Something else?

Note to self as I sit at @AUStinAirport.. Austin tacos are not as good as #SanAntonio tacos, had to abort mid-taco the tortilla was so ugh. Getting pancakes and eggs at a different restaurant now. P.S. @SATairport we could use early morning direct SAT to SEA.

@crtr0 EIA says the coal accounts for 5% of WA electricity generation with only one coal power plant remaining in the state. (Scheduled to close in 2025). I think PSE counts their Montana plan in their generation report? eia.gov/state/analysis…

@Noahpinion I wonder why interest rate relief is never on the table in these discussions? Instead of paying 5%+ rates, why not cap the interest to 0.5%? (Irrespective what happens with the $10k relief).

through her NATO dialogue with the leaders in the Nordics, Baltics and Brussels. She is also extremely popular, second only to the current president @niinisto. The next Finnish president is one of these two, and is probably followed by the other one.

who successfully led the country during one of the most difficult peace-time crises in 80 years. And that's putting it mildly - pick just about any covid metric you want. Marin is also gaining valuable foreign politics experience 2/3

@alexstubb for the next 12 years followed by @MarinSanna for the next 12. It's close, but my guess is Stubb getting the top job first due to his extensive experience in foreign politics - the #1 job of the president. That said, Marin is emerging as a skilled political leader 1/3

@pandemicsyn Yeah I love their chopping axe! I was pleasantly surprised to find a small version of it from Ace Hardware and I now carry it while backpacking in the PNW.

@JaakkoPiipponen is kinda weird, they're well known even here in the states for having one of the best axe designs. But their entire gardening line seems *meh*.

Why does the scissor maker Fiskars target the low-end of the market? The brand is synonymous with high quality in Finland, but anecdotally, few people in the US have the same association. It’s just some orange pair of scissors made in China.

@kirbywinfield Then again, a more charitable take would be that some of the ‘read the room’ folks are affected by a sudden war in Europe. It’s not much they can do and it can be frustrating. Easy to ignore the rest or ppl virtue signaling.

“read the room” guy is quickly becoming more annoying than “tweet as though there’s not a war happening” guy

@mwseibel @niinisto Obviously this isn’t a problem that SV can just “solve.” That said, those new types of defense companies are being born, and the future of warfare will be different vs when I was serving. I’d rather have the next Lockheed or Raytheon be found in the US or Europe than in Russia.

@mwseibel Finnish President @niinisto said the interests of top technology companies and the public sector are aligned [as it relates to defending against aggression]. It may not deter Putin today, but YC could collaborate with Pentagon to invest into responsible AI/drone startups.

Honest question, if US technology companies worked together right now - what could they do to deter Putin's invasion?

What are you up to this weekend? Me? I just made pancakes, 4 yo (almost 5) is getting his big boy bed, the raccoon scare sprinkler seems to be working, and we are going to treat the indoor plants for fungus gnats. If you’re not in your late 30s with kids, this is life.

Question for my Seattle startup, angel & VC friends: Where (as in location) are you all working these days? Or planning to g back to? I'd love to go back somewhere IRL where I can run into people.
