Florida and Texas are often lumped together but I think the overall economic model driving their respective booms has long been quite different, and Florida’s is noticeably shakier imo

The high cost of homeowner's insurance makes it impossible for anyone to live in Florida except for the super wealthy, or those whose houses are paid off and they no longer carry it. Anyone who runs for office must address this.
