Parents should not be allowed or expected to take care of children at all. This greatly disadvantages racialized minorities. We need to increase tax rates and spend the money on carers for the nation's children.

@StpdMcStupidson @Tom_Rowsell @KarlRadl Also, because there are fewer/no written clues further back in time, extrapolation is used based on an understanding of linguistic drift. e.g. we have a certain understanding of a hypothetical proto-Indo European.

Often useful to regard the stages as 'snapshots' to help determine branching, e.g. common origins of modern/historic languages.
