The Global Progressive Mobilisation just concluded here in Barcelona. An impressively global gathering - with representatives from Europe & US but also across Latin America, Africa, Asia. My observations:

So why is Xi complaining about “collapsing etiquette” and “bad music” to the Spanish Prime Minister? This is not a throwaway remark. In the traditional Confucian system, 礼 (etiquette/ritual) dictates what one should do in a given role and circumstance, while 乐 (music) reflects

In order to break Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and restore oil flows to the world, Donald Trump has decided to blockade the Strait of Hormuz.

On Iran, people need to stop obsessing about everything Trump says. Everything he’s babbled about thus far has been dog sh—t. He claims one thing one day, another thing another day and a third thing a few hours later. Most of it is crap. There’s no organized theory of the case and I doubt there’s even a plan about how you get from A to Z. Focus on what’s actually happening: thousands of additional U.S. troops are heading to the Middle East; U.S. demands remain as maximalist as ever; and Iran’s own demands are harder now than they were before the war started. Everything else is noise.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump, in a post earlier on TruthSocial, referred to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is often considered “Europe’s Last Dictator” and has been in power since 1994, as “Highly Respected President Alexander Lukashenko,” adding that he looks forward to seeing him “at the next Board of Peace meeting!”

@sentdefender Yeah, that's called schmoozing. It doesn't mean that's what President Trump really thinks of Lukashenko, but it does mean Trump wants something from Lukashenko. Do you expect the President to get that by calling Lukashenko names or being rude?
