Labour have betrayed Leaseholders. Many Leaseholders voted Labour in the 2024 General Election solely for its manifesto commitment to abolish Leasehold. Labour have published the draft Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill. Ground Rent must be Peppercorn. The Law Commission’s reform proposals must be enacted in full Extortionate Service Charges are causing the Health (including Mental Well Being) and Finances of Leaseholders to continuously suffer. How many more suicides and bankruptcies must happen before the Government rectify this national scandal. Labour will face the consequences from a vast majority of Leaseholders at the May 2026 elections.

@RobertJenrick That’s because we buy from Norway and don’t own the Companies on the British side. Thatcher sold the sites to foreign companies years ago. Norway kept theirs.

@RobertJenrick Why we buy gas from Norway: 1/ Thatcher privatised North Sea gas extraction in 1982. 2/ Private companies plundered our reserves while Norway’s 100% publicly owned Statoil managed theirs strategically. 3/ North Sea oil & gas peaked in 1999 and U.K reserves are now 90% gone.
