@JacobEliButler "It's relevant to whether we tolerate it or not." Sure, but that's a different question, with a different answer.

This could all be true, and still not legally relevant to this use-of-force event.

@TheBrancaShow Chud is going to prison. Had it been the other way around, it would not have made the local nightly news.

@endgame_men @ares_vengeance @bigblktroll @tariqnasheed You're telling on yourself. Violence for insults is so normalized in your community that you don't realize it's not acceptable in western countries. How many decades do you think you would have to do that before you got attacked by a white person?

@TheBrancaShow @SlyBailBonds Does calling some one, to their face, a "stupid dummy head" meet the fighting words standard? What about, "Fatass?" Ooh, what if a black man called another black man the same thing Chud did? Fighting words?

@SlyBailBonds If you provoke someone into being the initial physical aggressor with the intent of then having an excuse to shoot them, you've generally lost the justification of self-defense no matter what else you do.

@MrLeadslinger There's also civil liability. His current social media presence isn't going to help him in front of a jury. 🤷‍♂️

@endgame_men @ares_vengeance @bigblktroll @tariqnasheed Fascinating that you think it's acceptable to physically attack people for insults. When I was little, my dad taught me, "Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you." Ah... I think I figured out your problem.

@EphemeralMTB @DefiyantlyFree Other than one person saying he offered her $5K hush money, is there any evidence of it? That type of conveniently timed political attack is so commonly used that I, literally, do not give it any credit anymore.

@Tysingerlaw @MrColionNoir Same dude... same. Funny story: When I was a public defender, I represented people charged with state crimes for filling them out incorrectly... one of my favorite defenses was that my client, literally, could not read. Like, 1st grade reading level... maybe. Case dismissed. 🤣

@MrColionNoir I’m a lawyer and I always found the 4473 questions to require a double take. Definitely lawyerspeak and a huge improvement to use plain language.

Trump’s ATF just released a draft of the new Form 4473 — the background check form every gun buyer fills out at a dealer — and the internet is focused on the wrong part. Everyone is arguing about whether the “non-binary” box is gone. But the bigger story is what else changed. The new draft reportedly cuts the form from seven pages to four, rewrites the confusing straw purchase question so regular people understand that buying a firearm as a lawful gift is legal, updates the marijuana question, and adds language that could allow certain same-state firearm transfers to be shipped directly to the buyer’s door through an FFL process. That is not just paperwork. That is a shift away from the Biden-era ATF’s paperwork trap approach, where confusing questions, redundant boxes, and tiny mistakes could become the basis for targeting gun buyers and revoking FFLs. The old 4473 felt like a soft entrapment quiz. This new draft is not perfect, but it moves in the right direction: fewer pages, clearer questions, and a form that better reflects what the law actually says instead of what bureaucrats wish the law said. Gun owners need to pay attention to this one. Shop the final day of the Mother’s Day sale at Shop(dot)MrColionNoir(dot)com with code MOMSDEMAND for 15% off the entire site. @billydoodrops @Mrgunsngear I agree. Had the fat guy shot the guy in red as soon as the guy in red drew the gun... 100% a good shoot. But when the guy in red had, "proven his point," and was leaving, the immediate need for defensive deadly force was over.

@JacobEliButler @Mrgunsngear im pretty sure if there's an aggressor that draws a weapon on an innocent person, that at that point they dont need to just wait and see if they're gonna be a victim or not and can defend at that point.

Security footage was released today after it was announced that the two Gastonia police officers who shot and killed a man at a convenience store in January won’t face any criminal charges. Before getting into the details, as someone who has spent a lot of time in Gastonia, NC, this is the most "Gastonia" gas station conversation I've ever heard (audio up) 😎 -very good body positioning by the cop to conceal his 4 o'clock draw and a solid draw and first shot on target time 🤌🏽 -the cop took at least two shots on the threat while the threat was at a 90 degree angle; good example of why the 12-18'' penetration standard is the standard. Also, at that angle the standard "torso" target get's a whole lot thinner and the accuracy demanded increases -after the man in red was shot and killed saving taxpayers millions of dollars, it was discovered that the "gun" he pulled was a replica and not real Train accordingly... #CityLife #IQtest #police #charlotte #dumb #gastonia #FAFO #ballistics #accuracy #ConcealedCarry #crime #QC #urban

No. SCOTUS has ruled police have no constitutional duty to protect individuals or enforce the law against specific crimes, even violent ones in their presence. Key cases: DeShaney v. Winnebago County (1989) and Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005). The duty is to the public at large, not any one person, absent a "special relationship" like custody. Warren v. D.C. (1981) made a similar point at the appellate level. Officers have authority and job expectations, but no enforceable personal legal duty per the Constitution.

@TGill55441 @Mrgunsngear Cops do not have a legal obligation to enforce the law... especially off duty cops. SCOTUS has been saying this since 1981 but you "back the blue" goofballs still think cops are here to protect you.

@JacobEliButler @Mrgunsngear Correct, “because he’s a cop” and likely has a legal obligation to effectuate an arrest on a crime of violence occurring in his presence. A legal obligation no civilian has. A regular joe can just mind their own business. He cannot.
