That’s the thing about the gospel, it’s not deserved. You actually deserve hell, and so do I and so does everyone. Can God restore the young man in your story and actually give him a wife? *Rhetorical The apostle Paul literally murdered Christians, how dare he write the New Testament ?!! Am I doing this right

For young men who racked up tens of thousands in debt & destroyed your body through drug use but are now a born again Christian: There are no consequences. You deserve to marry a young healthy woman with no debt. If anyone tells you different, they are denying the gospel.

@TanneriteCortez Breaking: local pastor thinks sin is not ideal Also, Jesus said this of the religious leaders of his time: Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. - Jesus (Matthew 21:31)

Young ladies, it is very true that God redeems sinners and bedding a bunch of random men can be forgiven in Christ. It is also true that you are far less desirable as a wife if you go that route and most high quality, Godly men will not have an interest in you. Don’t go down that road. Stay chaste and pure and wait for your husband. You will miss out on nothing but the consequences of your sin and marriage will be much easier. Any sane woman who has gone down that road would tell you the same thing. Redemption doesn’t do away with temporal consequences. It just doesn’t. God bless.

@anglotradboy Most of those commenting are Christian’s by name only. Jesus dealt with fake religious leaders of his time this way: Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. - Matthew 21:31

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

This is exactly how the Book of Acts describes worship. We need to do this in America. Protestants would finally see what the Bible means.

@Pardon_Me_Again You misunderstand. I have no problem with them being shared. I have a problem with them being the ONLY ones shared. That those with “boring” testimonies are made to feel bad for not having a radicle one. That we cant love God as much. It’s not about clout but about ditches.

“My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior.” The level of disgust I have for this statement is palpable.  Growing up, testimonies like the one below were glorified. 1/2

@JennMGreenberg @Ember_RC You will never see the Bible approving of lying. Two wrongs don’t make a right. God could very well intervene without the need of lying. He did plenty in the OT with confusing armies.

I’ll never forget, once in Sunday school at an OPC church here in Texas, the pastor asked, “If you lived in Nazi Germany, and you had Jews hidden in your house, and Nazis came knocking on your door asking where any Jews are, would it be sinful to lie?” Obviously, the answer is no. I was shocked when two men said yes, it would be a sin to lie to Nazis, Even if telling the truth would get innocent people killed. To be clear, I grew up in the OPC and had never encountered this nonsense, and I do not think this is normative in the OPC. However, the fact that Spangler used to be OPC, and is now praising Hitler, demonstrates that it isn’t a phantom threat either. It has to be stamped out. What about the Hebrew midwives who lied to the Egyptian soldiers to protect the baby boys from death? Were they not praised as courageous and virtuous? What about Rahab who hid the Hebrew spies and lied to the soldiers of Jericho to turn them away? Was she not redeemed and rewarded by God? The commandant in Exodus 20:16 says, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” In other words, do not maliciously spread untruths or use your words to harm innocent people. To aid the Nazis is to break the commandment. To deceive the Nazis is to protect the innocent, defy evil, and partake in an historic tradition of honoring God by thwarting evil.
