🚨 Smotrich: West Bank Settlement Expansion Has “Full Backing” of Trump Administration Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich told the Jerusalem Post that Israel’s accelerating settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank is being carried out with full U.S. support, coordinated directly with President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Ambassador Mike Huckabee. ▪️ Since the current government took office in 2022, over 51,000 housing units have been approved for the West Bank, according to Smotrich’s office. ▪️ The Sa-Nur settlement in West Bank, evacuated 20 years ago under Israel’s Disengagement Plan, was reestablished Sunday, with over a dozen families already in residence. Smotrich said more settlements would follow “very soon.” ▪️ Smotrich called on Netanyahu to order the IDF to prepare for the “full conquest” of the Gaza Strip and the establishment of Israeli settlements there as well. ▪️ He said Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are “part of the Iranian axis of evil” and dismissed documented Jewish extremist violence against Palestinians as “one of the biggest false campaigns there is.” ▪️ On international condemnation: “In the past, even building 50 housing units would lead to condemnation. Today it is very different.” Smotrich acknowledged Trump has not yet backed full West Bank annexation, but claimed “we will also succeed in that.”

@MartinKonecny The textbooks are definitely the problem. Even if they're the same ones we "gave" (i.e. forced on) them during Oslo. I recall the late Ron Pundak z"l, deflecting rightwing journalist David Bedein who came up at a conference with that canard. "What d'you mean? They're OUR books!!"

If you think waving money can distract from the EU's deep political failure, think again @kajakallas You can bankroll the PA all you want; but had Europe upheld international law (on sanctions, arms, 🇪🇺-🇮🇱 deal, settlement trade) countless Palestinians could still be alive today

Quelle honte.

The drive to suspend the trade agreement with Israel has gathered steam in the EU. This is where it currently stands: 1) On April 15, 2026, 26 out of 27 EU member states reportedly voted in favor of partially suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which governs trade and political ties. The one exception was Hungary. Following Orbán's recent election defeat in April 2026, the incoming government led by Péter Magyar has signaled it may re-evaluate. 2) A European Citizens' Initiative petition calling for the full suspension of the agreement reached one million signatures in April 2026, legally forcing the European Commission to review the demand. 3) The European Commission proposed a €227 million tariff package against Israeli goods to pressure the government over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. 4) There are still serious differences of opinion. Spain has emerged as a primary critic, implementing a full national arms embargo, closing its airspace to aircraft carrying weapons to Israel, and permanently withdrawing its ambassador from Tel Aviv in March 2026. reland, and Slovenia. Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Malta, and Luxembourg support this stance. 5) France, Italy, Sweden, and Poland are taking a middle ground. They prefer multilateral diplomacy and are wary of full trade suspension. For instance, France and Sweden have proposed banning imports specifically from West Bank settlements rather than a blanket boycott of all Israeli goods. 6) Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic are generally against boycotts. Hungary led this group but is now probably closer to the middle group. 7) There is a gradual shift in the EU towards tools that do not require unanimity. For example, rescinding customs benefits and certain visa or technological collaborations only require a qualified majority. But this would not apply to a full boycott. The chances of a unified, EU-wide boycott remain small due to the requirement for unanimous consent. However, "fragmented boycotts" by individual nations are already occurring. Many in Israel already believe that in the long-term, the European trade agreements are a lost cause.

Oh Lord what will it take for Europe's leaders to show some integrity? To ''limit'' trade with the colonies (WAR CRIMES) is a smokescreen. If Int'l law means anything, you don’t tweak complicity: you end it. Trade with Israel -accused of atrocity crimes - must be suspended. Now.

What to expect from tomorrow's meeting of EU foreign ministers with regard to the EU-Israel Association Agreement? In last days, 350+ former diplomats, 60+ NGOs & 1,000,000+ citizens in a petition have called for suspension. That puts ministers under pressure. 3 scenarios:🧵

Kallas starts her sentence with "Under international law..." Yet, under the entire genocide in Gaza, Europe completely ignored international law. When the US attacked Venezuela, EU leaders explicitly stated that this was not the time to discuss international law. They repeated that when the US attacked Iran. But now, Kallas returns to opening her sentence with "international law." International law is not an optional feature of international relations that you invoke only when it suits you.
Kaja Kallas@kajakallas

Under international law, transit through waterways like the Strait of Hormuz must remain open and free of charge. This is what leaders made clear in their call on reopening the Strait today. Any pay-for-passage scheme will set a dangerous precedent for global maritime routes. Iran has to abandon any plan to levy transit fees. Europe will play its part in restoring the free flow of energy and trade, once a ceasefire takes hold. The EU’s Aspides naval mission is already operating in the Red Sea and can be quickly strengthened to protect shipping across the region. This could be the fastest way to provide support.

🚨Must read: Israeli soldiers with moral injury admit to unspeakable atrocities they committed in Gaza. They say it "reminded [them] of the Holocaust." One says they put a Gazan civilian in cage, stripped him down, a soldier peed on him while the others laughed Another emptied his machine gun into an elderly man with 3 children. When the commander came to the site, he spat on the bodies & called them "sons of bitches." Another soldier says they encountered an unarmed Palestinian civilian who held his hands up. An Israeli soldier "came near him, waited a few seconds & just fired, without asking questions, without the suspect doing anything," then reported the incident as a "terrorist eliminated." Another describes how IDF Soldiers "would just take pleasure in destruction" & stealing the belongings of murdered Palestinians. He said soldiers would steal "electric appliances, gold necklaces, cash, everything" & "called it a blessing to steal from [Palestinians]." NONE of those soldiers have ever been held accountable, despite their public confessions to their crimes. The IDF refuses to even recognize "moral injury" as a mental disorder because it negates their propaganda slogan that "Israel has the world's most moral army." Instead, the IDF quietly calls it "identity injury" to imply those soldiers are to blame for feeling bad about murdering Palestinians.

WOW! CNN announces that there is no longer a divide within the Democratic party on Israel - the party base (not its leadership) is overwhelmingly opposed to Israel! No age divide or divide between Liberals and non-Liberals. A majority of all demographics oppose Israel.

Rahm Emanuel, on Israel: "No more US military aid. You're a country like all other allies of ours, Japan, South Korea, the Brits, the Germans. You're going to pay full price. You can buy what you want, but you have to abide by the laws." This is Obama's chief of staff. He helped shape the last MOU. He signed off on Iron Dome funding. The position that US aid to Israel should end is now inside the Democratic establishment mainstream.
