@Rebel44CZ @Aviation_Intel The race has a checkpoint (RSI) and the finish line (ASI) and all US need is to maintain the gap with China (which is more like ~9 months considering Mythos was available internally in Feb and China models are still nowhere close to Mythos level model).

@JaioBoi @Aviation_Intel This "race" doesnt really have a finish line - and everyone admits that even much cheaper competitors are just a few months behind the leading models - making the insane valuations (and insane sums continuously spent) completely idiotic.

China just knocking off US AI models and giving them away, 90% solution for many applications at 0% the cost, is wild and should be very problematic for companies spending massively on all this. When will this reality catch up with the market?

@Rebel44CZ @Aviation_Intel It's a race and US can't allow to lose it. I am just sad Europe ignored it and will be even more dependent on US (or god forbid China) in a few years onwards or cut off from the frontier AI altogether. Current "usefulness" is only the beginning, it will explode exponentially.

@Aviation_Intel I fully agree LLMs "AI" is a useful tool, but so was the optical fiber laid during the .com bubble - which didn't justify companies like AOL being worth a gazillion dollars. The more this bubble inflates, the more its💥will hurt.

@shashj I use Fable for both plan and execution. Some try to save tokens by using Fable for plan only and Opus for execution but for me Fable uses 90%+ tokens at the plan stage anyway so it makes no sense to switch. Sonnet 5 is trash and will cost more than Opus with worse results.

For the people saying this is a pause, or a victory for safety, it is not. This does not slow development in any way, it only slows the rate at which the labs can 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 models, not how fast they can train them. The gap between what is available to the public, and what the labs have internally, will steadily widen from this day forward. This actually makes no one happy. The old 'AGI has been developed internally' joke will absolutely come true now though, long before it is available to the public.
