@Carsobi @dripseasonthree Well he was never hurt, played forever, was an efficient scorer, and was always a 1/2 option on his team. Wins be damned. You’re acting like he’s Rudy Gay.

@dripseasonthree I was pretty obviously joking - it’s not actually “disturbing” at all, it’s just super weird because he has never been a very impactful player but he’s gonna go down as a Top 10 career scorer ever Believe it or not, my goal was not to hurt DeMar’s feelings when I tweeted that

I think it's weird that your teams have been better with you off the court for your entire career and you are probably going to end up with more career points than Shaq That's what it means
DeMar DeRozan@DeMar_DeRozan

@Carsobi Disturbing!? Fuck that mean? Who the hell is you to have an opinion on somebody career. Clown!

@HPbasketball Because they are like the Duncan Spurs. Methodical, inevitable, not flashy. They clamp you down and paper cut you 1,000 times till you’re dead. You have a few bad turnovers or misses and they are up 15 and zap your soul each possession making you work just to keep up from there.

I'm really interested by the idea that the Thunder are, objectively, an All-Time team. Wins. Point Differential. Defense. Defense with Offensive Capability. Led by MVP. Depth. Coaching. Culture. Execution. But they do not feel like the all-time great teams *to me* and I do not know why. (Thunder fans, I get they fell like that to you and that people SHOULD view them that way. Read the first part again.) If you're not a Thunder fan, does OKC feel like an all-time great team on par with Warriors 2016, 2017, or say, Heat 2012 (who were objectively much worse than OKC), OKC 2014, 01 Lakers, etc? If not, why not?

@awfulannouncing @bykevinclark Yes those sweet sweet ratings and the money for the top 1-10% athletes meanwhile the 90% who SHOULD be getting educated for the rest of their lives are at their 3rd school in 3 years, don’t play, and don’t have a long term plan. This won’t ever be a problem!

Over the last two years (playoffs included), OKC has a 99.2 DRTG in 819 mins with Alex Caruso & Chet Holmgren on the court That DRTG is 15.8 pts better than league average OKC's defensive lineups with both Caruso + Chet are probably the very best in NBA history

@JamJamGuy_ @SteveThunderfan Luck? You expected the lakers to stay healthy come playoffs when they play bron luka reaves 40 mins a game and they haven’t gave them rest in recent weeks so they could push for a Luka mvp… maybe manage ur players and don’t complain about injuries when ur relying on bron & luka

Bill and Lowe talking about the break OKC would get if Denver/SAS are on the other side was funny because the “break” is the 2nd and 3rd-best teams being the 2 and 3, which is the reward you’re supposed to get if you get the 1 seed.

@Obitoasty @Maroon_22E @LukaDoncicStanD You don’t even need just FG%. Rookie guards with a eFG% of 55 (Dylans’s eFG) or higher who scored more than 10 a game: Tyrese Haliburton Dylan Harper And he doesn’t even make 3s…

@Maroon_22E @LukaDoncicStanD Part of basketball is scoring efficiently at the rim and inside the arc. Dylan Harper is doing so with efficiency only seen 6 other times for a 1st year player at his position. It's a historically efficient season in said context. Do not move anymore goalposts lol

Trump, who I advocated for in 2024, has gone full "mad king." In considering my responsibility, I'd ask you to remember: The case I made rested on the fact that Biden/Harris were figureheads, shielding a cabal that couldn't be held to account, whereas Trump could. And we must.

He started the whole load management. That’s how we got to this point. Then everybody else followed. I don’t care if this rule affects the awards. This rule was put in for the fans” (Via @FirstTake)

@jmac21090 @danclayt0n Yea but the Jazz would do it, get their guy, and start winning. I don’t think we’d care as much if it wasn’t the same teams always doing it. Cycling would help. I think it’d work especially if you limit 10 day contracts so Joe Blow isn’t playing every single game for the Wiz.

Very thoughtful article. Also, imagine seeing this graph & concluding that the smart thing is to make it /harder/ for the teams below that line to get talent. The NBA is proposing reforms that will only widen that gulf. (It will be a fun little metaphor for the global economy)

@JamJamGuy_ @ch1nh0ng @BrettSiegelNBA He played 29 minutes. And his team lost by 11. Didn't take one of the greatest moments of Curry's career, the US was always going to win that game. Just like they will win in 2028, and again in 2032

@danclayt0n @jmac21090 There should actually be no lottery at all. The Jazz/Wizards would have already cycled out of tanking with just a reverse order draft. Instead they continue to get jumped and can’t land top talent and have to tank again.

@jmac21090 Sure, but this is a zero-sum league. There are 1,280 wins to go around, so as long as there are 50-60 win teams there will by definition be 15-25 win teams. Any changes that make it impossible for bad teams to improve will hurt the health of the league in the long run.

@cryptopunk7213 I don't understand these takes. As a shareholder, do you really prefer a Tech company to do absolutely nothing? No innovation, just buybacks and paying a dividend? Just sitting out the next big thing in favor of quarterly returns? Then you may be better off with tobacco stocks.

@WorldWideWob Rob I’m sorry you had Chet as DPOY for 40% of the season but it’s ok for someone to tweet a 5 second clip on bot dominated twitter about a Wemby “nevermind”. I promise your Chet pandering did more institutional harm to the brand of basketball than this clip.

What’s sad is this was probably tweeted by some young kid who is just trying to do their job, but those last six words are the problem. When entry level social media coordinators are instructed to highlight certain players, they have some level of discretion on the context and captions. The default mindset is always to compliment, so the author is not responsible for the brand criticizing its own assets/gets in trouble with their boss. But excessive caution leads to obvious pandering, which can turn an audience against the subject as quickly as slander. The potential of something like this tweet below happening — a play that happens hundreds of times per game — and is not even close to qualifying as one of Wemby’s “nevermind”s. Now you are insulting your customers’ intelligence. The NBA has an obligation to document its current events and package them into an easily-consumable product. It is the entertainment business after-all. However, the continuous examples of something like this happening from their main channels suggests a reassessment of their internal storytelling methods may be necessary. This type of content does more damage to their brand than I think they realize.
NBA@NBA

A classic "NEVERMIND" forced by Wemby! Defensive impact is just nuts.

I was genuinely worried about the future of America and the West with how this war is unfolding. Then, at the Commander in Chief’s behest, I tuned into "Life, Liberty & Levin" with Mark Levin. Nothing steadies the nerves like a calm, measured, totally not whiny or weaselly voice of reason.
Chris Menahan 🇺🇸@infolibnews

Mark Levin makes the case for putting troops on the ground in Iran: "Why would we need troops on the ground? …We've got to get the uranium… [Iran] can make dirty bombs… You need to get to the uranium." (Trump urged his followers to watch this show hours ago on Truth Social.)
