Good trends for early April if you are needing rains in the Central US. A bit skeptical of NW Plains rains, but should be some much needed opportunities in the S. Plains. This will likely come with a big uptick in severe weather risks as well.

Early April, particularly between April 1-8, looks active from a severe weather/tornado standpoint. We'll also likely see above-average rainfall across portions of the Ozarks, Mid-south and Mississippi Valley. A large-scale pattern reversal will favor troughing, or a jet stream dip in the west. Chilly air will spill south over the Rockies in that jet stream dip. Warmth and moisture will build in the east. Periodically, lobes of that cold pocket will pinch off, bowling eastwards and kicking up that warmer, wetter air mass over the Central U.S. With the jet stream roaring overhead, adding wind energy, some of the storms will be strong to severe. I expect an uptick in tornado activity as well. It's also the time of year when tornado activity tends to ramp up anyway. Now is a good time to clean the cobwebs out of the storm cellars, brush up on your severe weather plan and coordinate with friends, family and loved ones.

⚠️ Sunday, March 22 ⚠️ - The Northern half of Kentucky looks especially interesting on the 22nd. There will definitely be some ingredients for storms to play with. The only issue is, no one knows if it will actually storm. You see, there's a building High pressure. That's why it's getting so warm. That High pressure is also sending incredibly warm air above our heads. When that occurs, a storm can't really root and become strong/big. It just fizzles out. - So Sunday, definitely has severe potential, but that's *IF* it storms... - George 👀

@I65WxSils Fru took a scary hit towards the end of the game but came back in luckily so hopefully he’s fine. Louisville is known for blowing big leads lol. MSU won their game by 25 pretty easily I watched some of it. Gonna be a really good game on Saturday.

@JamesDistler15 I’ve seen a few UofL tourney games in my life where we collapsed. Worse one where I hated to watch the ‘03 2nd Game against Butler. Up big like this earlier where they made any 3 possible. We won CUSA Tourney, but streaky down stretch. It’s was Pitino’s 1st good squad
