There is a better way for President Trump: Help the protesters topple the ayatollah and his enforcers. Don’t crush the Iranian people’s hopes; give them the confidence to keep pushing against a regime that has no answer but bullets to any of their problems. 📈 In 2025, the 15th Ward saw a 19% increase in calls for rodent baiting in alleys throughout all six communities I represent. Often it feels like we are waging a losing battle against the rat population in our alleys.
🐀 The reality is simple: the city simply cannot poison our way out of this situation. Residents need to do their part, especially when it comes to garbage. All garbage must be placed in a closed container, either a garbage cart or dumpster. If the lid doesn’t close or the garbage is somehow accessible, rats will have a food source.
🦺 My Ward Superintendent has resumed surveying communities for sanitation violations related to garbage. Tickets will be issued to any property that fails to properly dispose of garbage.
📞 Property owners with private disposal service should ensure they have the appropriate size & pickups for the size of the building. Properties that have city alley service should report any issues with broken carts to the 15th Ward Service Office at 773-823-1539 to avoid potential citations.

Asylum law is actually quite specific.
Claims are almost always to be made in the first safe country accessed by an asylee, valid claims can only be made from genuinely dangerous countries/situations, making a false or invalid claim IS ILLEGAL and voids your application, claims can only be made at a port of entry, etc etc.
Thus my whole point here: Biden-era leftists, and NGOs starting a bit earlier, attempted to use goofy word-play to declare a whole cadre of ~illegal aliens to be legal refugees.

Walking through eight countries to make a fake asylum claim here is not "legal entry" in any conventional or real sense of this term. If some apparat's stroke of a pen once made this the rule, another's eraser can immediately restore sanity.
Also, my understanding is that, in this particular case, the waiver granting temporary legal status here for the father had expired. I'll check that, but it's almost certainly a tell as to why all posts of this^ kind say "entered legally" as vs "was here legally" - and why the man ran and abandoned his kid when he saw agents.
However hard post-modernists may try, word games do not actually change reality.

Important for everyone to know: Liam’s parents didn’t enter the US illegally. They presented at a port of entry, requested asylum and were waiting for their hearing. Many of the families ICE has been snatching off the streets are like this. Immigrants who entered legally!
