It’s always wonderful to meet with Minnesota's young ag leaders. I enjoyed talking with the Minnesota FFA Association State Officer Team this week, who were in D.C. for the @NationalFFA Organization State Officer Summit. Great to visit with them!
Our prayers continue this morning for all those affected by the devastating floods in Texas. Many lives have been lost and communities destroyed in the terrible tragedy. May God be with the rescue workers, first responders, and volunteers who are continuing their search for the missing.

Yeah, we’re battling over the reconciliation bill, BBB. We’re fighting over the fiscal direction of our Republic. Here’s the simple truth: DC spends way too much money and America is facing financial collapse if we don’t correct the long term trajectory of spending. So, the Republicans who are fighting to spend more money are part of the problem. While the Republicans who are fighting to spend less money are part of the solution.
As a member of both @HASCRepublicans and @HouseSmallBiz, I was glad to take part in this week’s hearing to discuss the important role critical minerals play in our national security. As our reliance on minerals like copper, nickel, and cobalt increases, so does our reliance on China and other foreign adversaries for our critical mineral needs. I know the people of #MN01 would rather rely on our neighbors here at home to extract and refine these minerals for our domestic supply chain, which is why I asked some of the top leaders in the mining industry what steps we can take to bring more critical mineral development to our backyard.
I always love showing Minnesotans around the Capitol, especially our young leaders. Yesterday, @RepFischbach and I had the chance to talk with awesome @MN4H students who traveled to D.C. for the Citizenship Washington Focus program, which helps teens grow their leadership and communication skills as they learn about our nation’s history, democracy, and Constitution.
Vance Boelter’s court hearing today delayed until July 3. He is on suicide watch at the Sherburne County Jail (although he denies being suicidal) and says he hasn’t slept in 12-14 days because of jail conditions.
