@RDPHistory Think it’s clear in the Col’s mind that the Para RM Bde was finding every way not to support 5 Inf. Whilst the Navy nearly sank the Scots Guards the night before then failing to get the landing craft in the right place to deliver 1WG. Conspiracy or incompetence

Day 2: saw grave of Maj David Nelson VC, Royal Field Artillery, died, aged 31. Citation for VC says helped to bring guns into action under heavy fire on 1st Sept 1914, & while severely wounded remaining with them until ammunition expended although been ordered to retire to cover.

Thems that “don’t dance” (shiners) made RH go all spit and polish again. They must have a connection to the BR Stewards 💂 all they are go for 🙄
