If they truly cared about safety they would appoint judges to our bench, they would reimburse federal security costs for MPD, they would fully staff our prosecutor’s office, they would pass common sense gun control reforms. Don’t forget what’s at risk in this election for DC.

Trump in Doral: "We will take over the horribly run capital of our country in Washington DC ... right now if you leave Florida -- 'oh, let's go darling, let's look at the Jefferson Memorial' ... and you end up getting shot, mugged, raped. We're gonna take over our capital and we're gonna run it tough and smart."

1/ No doubt Xi's challenges w/ Covid are daunting. But to me his problem starts with where he wants this to end. At the end of the day, when covid is behind us, Xi wants to say the CCP handled it better than any political system in the world (esp US/Western-led democracies).

"In essence, Biden argued that North Korea's provocations come at China's expense, and therefore Beijing should exercise some of the leverage it has over Pyongyang to restrain them," said Jacob Stokes, an Indo-Pacific expert at @CNASdc. reuters.com/world/top-take…
