Super fun to catch up with @Jamie_IF. His story about his site that was on the market when HCU hit is crazy :(
But great to hear all of the success he is having now (and how he is doing it)!

What do you do when Google tanks your traffic? @JaredBauman talks with @Jamie_IF about HCU fallout, rebuilding fast, and growing a SaaS with cold outreach and paid ads. Watch now!

@Het__Vora From here nothing has gotten close but there’s other footage of the palm that suggests a drone / debris got through that caused some fire / damage

@helloitsolly both will work with your level of brand, retention, and focus
but if you had to pick one right now - relationships first, then scale with paid once you've built the brand further with the relationship wins

I want to spend $120,000 on marketing
$20,000/month over six months
This will be my biggest ever marketing bet at Senja
But I want to scale from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 ARR and need to take bigger bets
My brain is telling me to try and scale something measurable - meta ads, Google Ads, cold outbound
But my gut thinks I should focus on the hard work of building relationships with power-users and influencers of our ICP
Less measurable, slower to ramp-up, but a genuine opportunity to find and persuade the right people to use Senja, and get to success
This work would then act as the foundation of future marketing activity
But I'm torn
What would you do?

Hiring an automation specialist as a consultant really changed the way we operate our agency and software
All the stressful and boring admin stuff like:
1. Meeting notes get sent to every person with their specific action items, and then added to Monday as specific tasks
2. All support requests for the software auto-tagged and sent to the specific person who can answer them, with KPIs auto-measured for response time
3. All weekly client report reminders for every manual part, with other parts automated and generated
4. All marketing channel & acquisition data auto-tracked, summarised, and delivered with AI insights
When they get deep into it and find everything that they can save you 1, 2 hours a week on, the total is just soooo much time every week. Not just for me but for our team as well
The team are happier because they spend less time on boring stuff, and it saves 10x more than you invest in saved staff time and getting more results
If you're on the fence, definitely hire someone for this.
(Just makes sure they’re good and can actually build all the complex automations lol.)
But we hired someone amazing and she's crushing it for us

@jpaulhendricks @ohgosu @Davidjpark96 Disable any promo codes in AIO and issue a new one to the affiliate
English

@Jamie_IF @ohgosu @Davidjpark96 Other than forcing your way into the AIO instead, what is the solution to that problem?
English

Also be careful that AI Overviews don’t show a random affiliate’s promo code for the “jenni discount code” query giving them commission without actually driving the traffic
Growing problem recently as the AI Overviews scan a random review, find the code and show it for everyone without the affiliate actually doing anything. So it ends up being basically an accidental brand bidding style situation
English

@Davidjpark96 If you're running affiliate promo codes, have you checked that they are bringing in net new revenue and not canabalizing your organic branded traffic?

everyone printing on FB because they got the algorithm right for the types of casual, fun things that audience wants to see from FB pages
Google could do the same for longer-form article content
(WITH EVEN MORE MONEY POTENTIAL! the RPMs are like 200x higher on Discover lol)
The answer is so obvious... and it would incentivise creativity and creating excellent written content, and potentially give journalism a new lease of life in the AI overview era
But no... it makes too much sense to actually be implemented
English

Google fumbling the bag with Google Discover after HCU is honestly one of the worse moves I've ever seen
They could have turned niche publishers from keyword-focused content farms
To the blogging version of YouTube,
Where if you created unique, non-keyword-focused content that was actually really good (cool stories on the topic, interviews, deep-dives, actual journalism...)
You'd get pumped based on engagement rates with your content and potentially get hundreds of thousands of views, and your month's income, from one banger article
(Like YouTube)
But no, instead, most got banished entirely from Discover due to the minimum site quality score hits that seem to always be applied unless you're a huge media brand
I'm not an SEO anymore so I don't care, but it's just such a missed win.
And it's bad for humanity because they disincentivise creativity by not even trying to push GOOD content
Like even if you don't want to rank niche publishers anymore on Google (the SERPs are worse for it, but ok..)
Then at least create a new meta with Discover where AMAZING content is pushed to a wider audience, like the YouTube algorithm
so that people who like to read cool conteont can get the option of reading this on their lunch breaks or weekends
Huge huge missed win
English

@zilvestro why would you want to confuse both our users by using a name we've been using for months?
it's just bad for both of us and our users

I built an agent that finds creators who’d actually promote you. On TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit..... That’s the part most platforms ignore. And the part I’ve been building into @useAffonso . It finds people who mention your competitors. Or create content your audience already trusts. It’s not public yet. I’m looking for a few early testers. If you want to try it drop a comment 👇👇👇
English

-> Linkedin sponsorship
-> check everyone who likes and connects with them
-> send them a 3-min Loom showing how the product applies to their specific product
-> ask if they want to be an "early product dev tester" and ask how much they'd value a product like this if it was finished
-> get them in and using, and when it's ready send them the bill
English

Genuinely just do this 1 thing if you want to see if your product idea is a banger before you build it:
Pay the biggest influencer in your niche $1K to post an ad for it
and if a bunch of people hunt you down to try and pay you for it, build it
Happened a couple weeks back with a product we're launching next monday, top head at a $25bn company with 22,000 employees is actively pursuing us telling us to name our price
If it's crickets, congrats, you just paid under a grand to get all the data you need to save weeks of bs building
