It’s quite interesting and hypocritical that no one is attributing the animalistic rape culture festival in Ozoro, Delta State, Southern Nigeria to any tribe or religion. I want us to please keep this level of consistency when dealing with criminals. Terrorists, rapists, fraudsters, and drug pushers have no religion or tribe They should all be treated as criminals without being associated with any religion or tribe.

A Serious Religious Concern 1. Birthday celebrations are a clear innovation (bid‘ah) in Islam and originate from the practices of Jews and Christians. There is absolutely no basis for birthday celebrations in Islam. They are not found in the Qur’an, nor in the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, nor were they practiced by the Companions or the righteous predecessors. Anyone who claims otherwise must bring clear evidence. These practices only entered the Muslim community in later times, when moral corruption spread and Muslims began imitating Western ways of life, abandoning Islamic values in favor of foreign traditions. 2. Regarding the spending of 70 million on a cake and 700 million to invite a southern musician, Davido. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, as reported in Sahih al-Bukhari: “Indeed, Allah hates three things: •Qīla wa Qāla: spreading rumors and speaking without knowledge or verification. •Wasting wealth: squandering money and spending it in ways that bring no benefit. •Excessive questioning: asking pointless or unnecessary questions, especially about matters that do not benefit one’s religion.” The Qur’an contains numerous verses warning against extravagance and wastefulness, and condemning those who exceed proper limits in spending. ⸻ Even if the wealth belongs to an individual, it does not grant them freedom to disobey Allah. Wealth is a trust, and every person will be questioned about how it was earned and how it was spent. Islam does not teach unrestricted freedom or blind obedience to desire. The idea that “it is my money, so I can do whatever I want” is a dangerous mindset rooted in ignorance and a lack of understanding of the religion. A true believer measures every action against the commands of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ.
