DALLAS PEEPS HEADS UP: there’s a new @Uber scam targeting folks. I know cuz they tried to get me. Yesterday I requested a ride. It came QUICK. But then a random number started blowing up my phone. I answered and they said they were uber and I needed to secure my account.

@Uber How am I being punished because of a safety lapse?! We also ran the license plate of the driver and found it was fraudulent. Tags didn’t even come back. Imagine if I would have gotten in the car with that person ☹️

@Uber I also tried to set up 2 step authentication, and I reached out to @uber support for help. They found the scammers actually didn’t gain access. But because I changed my account info after being put at risk - @uber restricted my device from my account 😒
