My heart is still in the 1980s, when real men wore makeup and sex-role stereotypes (a.k.a. genders) were seen as the regressive bullshit they are.

@ZARA - I just queried the presence of a hulking great man in the ladies changing room in your Kingston branch and staff told me it’s policy to let them in. Can you confirm?

Dame Jenni Murray, best known for presenting BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour from 1987 to 2020, has sadly died at the age of 75. Mohit Bakaya, Controller, BBC Radio 4 and Director of BBC Speech Audio has paid tribute tribute to Dame Jenni. “Jenni Murray was a formidable voice in British broadcasting who was warm, fearless and beloved by listeners,” he said. “During her decades at Woman’s Hour, she helped shape the national conversation with intelligence, rigour and a remarkable ability to connect with audiences. Jenni leaves an indelible legacy on generations of listeners. “We are profoundly grateful for her outstanding contribution to Radio 4, and she will be deeply missed.”

I have mixed feelings about this. It’s a step in the right direction but again, avoids the main problem. The top 5 nationalities accounted for 39% of all asylum claims: - Pakistan – 11% - Eritrea – 9% - Iran – 7% - Afghanistan – 6% - Bangladesh – 6% So my question is, why not start with Pakistan?

We have signed a new agreement with Nigeria to speed up the return of people with no legal right to be in the UK. This means quicker action against those who abuse our systems while keeping the process fair for those who follow the rules and come here legitimately.

Bait & switch on Assisted Dying. 1: get it through the Commons by saying don’t worry about the details, the Lords will scrutinise it; and 2: shrill protests that Lords are “holding it up,” causing a “constitutional crisis” when they give the scrutiny you promised.

@JohnCleese Certain politicians keep jumping up & down about 'islamophobia' but stick their fingers in their ears when it's pointed out no other faith in the UK advocates for violence against non believers, and globally treats women, girls & gay men horrifically. It's a medieval mindset.

Is 'singling out' Muslims for criticism connected with their stated intention of killing people who aren't Muslims Other religions don't threaten death to people who disagree with them This may explain why the other religions are happily accepted as part of multiculturalism

This is MMA fighter Sean McInnes. When Anne Marie Boyle asked him to leave her alone, he punched her in the face so hard that he broke her cheekbone and her eye socket, knocked her unconscious, and left her with a life-altering brain injury. He was given less than two years behind bars. It would be a real shame if this post was widely circulated and impacted his career in a negative way.

@HarrietHarman If you really thought there was something wrong with her position on women’s rights v trans issues you could have told Nick Robinson “I didn’t agree with her on that and here’s why”. But insinuating it detracted from her feminism? You’re a triangulating weasel and a hypocrite.

20 March I gave a talk to ca 45 women in my neigbourhood. Outlining that our sex is binary and immutable and that it sometimes matters in society. Also, I told them that we can all choose behaviours, occupations and romantic partners, 1/8

Over the years, I’ve heard from several teachers who spotted signs of schoolgirls who were about to be taken abroad for forced marriages or FGM. They reported their concerns and in some cases saved these girls from terrible fates. Most of these girls belonged to immigrant families from the Islamic world because that’s where these practices are most prevalent. One of my concerns about the government’s proposed Islamophobia/“anti-Muslim hatred” definition is that teachers and social workers will no longer be able to help these girls. Reporting the signs could be seen as “anti-Muslim hatred”. There’s nothing kind or progressive about making protecting girls from abuse a political minefield.

A little tale about Jenni Murray in Leeds...In February 2019, the first ever Leeds Literature Festival was announced and on the programme was Bradford-born Jenni Murray, who was scheduled to talk about her book, ‘A History of the World in 21 Women’.

The NHS seriously implemented open-plan showers, zero curtains, zero partitions, multiple shower heads in one shared space... and then made them mixed-sex. Not one person thought women might object to naked men walking in and using them right beside them? This level of institutional delusion is beyond parody. How did basic safeguarding and common sense get completely erased?

This case has been quite astounding - apparently not a single person could foresee that open showers - no curtains or partitions - being made mixed sex might be an issue for women. Nobody said a word. The oppressive atmosphere that genderists create cannot be underestimated

Dear Sadiq Khan, I think some of the prejudice to do with 'singling out Muslims' is to to with their stated intention to kill 'infidels', expecially the bit about beheading them You see, the other religions don't promise that
Sadiq Khan@SadiqKhan

British values mean defending everyone’s right to practise their faith freely. In London, I’m proud Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and others can celebrate in Trafalgar Square. Singling out Muslims isn’t ‘British values’ - it’s prejudice. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

Instead of simply disagreeing with Nick, these MPs are calling for him to be “investigated”. This is exactly why an Islamophobia definition is so dangerous. People need to be able to disagree and debate without the authorities weighing in.
Nick Timothy MP@NJ_Timothy

This Labour MP wants me investigated and silenced. He makes my case for me. Labour’s rebranded “Islamophobia” definition is designed to censor us. So Mr Khan, here’s my reply: Get lost.

Iran executed the 19-year-old champion, Saleh Mohammadi for protesting the Khamenei regime. Nothing from Greta Thunberg, Gary Lineker, Charlotte Church, sectarian Muslim politicians. No hunger strikes on University campuses. Where have all the “human rights” activists gone?

I have long supported the principle of assisted dying but the Leadbetter Bill has convinced me otherwise. At the moment of peak scrutiny, the disregard for expert concerns over critical details by its proponents augers very, very ill for any sort of practical implementation.
