Government should be accountable to the people it serves. With Senate passage of SB 1366, Florida is raising payment caps in lawsuits against the government, strengthening justice and doing right by our citizens.

We are saddened to learn Capt. Cody Khork, who is originally from Winter Haven, was killed in a drone attack in Kuwait. We are praying for his family. God bless our soldiers.

Last week we celebrated Florida Wildlife Corridor Day at the Capitol. I'm proud to fight for this initiative, protecting thousands and thousands of acres of the Florida heartland for generations to come.

This week, we passed a resolution designating February 4th as Florida State Parks Day! Our state park system offers residents and visitors the chance to enjoy and learn about our beautiful ecology, and I am proud to help recognize their efforts!
