It's almost as if something major happened that instantly drove up the price for every player in the league...

@MMars1978 @ZachCav Agreed, but the problem is you not only likely lose one or more of the veterans, but you can't bring in anyone to reinforce the rest of the roster.
The right side of the D and wing depth we would have going into next season... 😬

@beardmagic18 @AlexisDownie_ Great young centers with the potential to be elite franchise players are hard to find.
The chances of them getting a guy like Leo either through the draft or by trading those picks is very slim.
But yeah, it's gonna be tough building a team around that cap hit this season

Plus this drives up the salary of *EVERY* player, especially good, young guys like Zegras and Drysdale now and Martone in the future

We won either way.
By offering $18M aav we forced you to WAY WAY overpay. It’s not even close.
Your own manager denied a $15M AAV contract.
You wanted him for $13M AAV.
Your team now GLARING HOLES they cannot fix because of 2 contracts that handcuff your money.

#NYR have signed @UMassHockey product Marc Del Gaizo to a 2-year deal. Del Gaizo grew up a @NYRangers fan in Basking Ridge, NJ. Del Gaizo said this is a dream come true. He didn't find a spot on the MTL blue line last year, but played 46 games with the Nashville Predators in '24-25. He had 27 points in 63 games this season in the AHL. Very tough kid, smart player with some offensive ability as well.

There was a time I thought Woo (former early second-round pick) would have developed into a nice little two-way d-man in the NHL
Seemed to have stalled in the AHL and has yet to play an NHL game. He’ll be 26 later this month
