@JasonFrizbee yeah... once a physical copy that sells for $50 and gets played by a dozen people could easily have been a dozen sales at somewhere between $200 and $600 that $150 to $550 gap in revenue is what this change is meant to close, and it's stupid to pretend that gap isn't real

I don't understand this. Why would anyone argue on behalf of greedy corporations? The people I've seen do it today have a YouTube podcast with like 10 views lol. Tons of people still collect physical. I haven't bought a digital game or blue ray movie in years.

Playstation stopping physical copies of games doesnt affect me in the slightest. Hard truth is everyone still invested in physical digital media is living in the past. Only market alive fr is vinyl. And go look at vinyl revenue comparative to years prior. Its all dyin out slow🤷🏾‍♂️

@blessedtism In order for the game to be used, someone did buy the game at full price, and the company made money. Your stance is disingenuous at best. You have to be doing a bit for rage engagement or you're developmentally challenged haha

@JasonFrizbee maybe, but people don't like being slaves, and corporations aren't obligated to provide free gaming entertainment for the poors who are unwilling or unable to pay them

@Origon121 Hahah what Sony is doing is greedy. You're crazy simping for them. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're young and your frontal lobe is still in development. If that's not the case you should be a ward of the state.

@Origon121 Make copies based on demand. Start small and increase if it's there. You should always have access to both.

@JasonFrizbee So your idea is to make physical copies AFTER the game already sells well??? XD 🤣🤣🤣

@blessedtism I don't care how it affects their bottom line, used games are a blessing for low income households. And allow more people to enjoy games. You can and should still have both options. Sony is still making a boatload of money anyway. You're a fucking jackass.

@JasonFrizbee if you cant appreciate how used games affect publishers, you can't be a serious participant in this discussion and you will never understand why this is happening and probably should happen

@JasonFrizbee Because some points are fucking stupid. It makes no sense spending the time and money to make physical copies if they don't sell. Go figure

@blessedtism I'm sorry you're a simp for corps. Losing options as a consumer is not good anyway you slice it. This is a greedy corporation strong-arming the industry. Equating the used game market to piracy is insane.

The reality that the physical enthusiasts don't want to accept is that physical media is bad for the industry and not inherently good for gamers either. - Physical is obsolete (slow!) - Physical is expensive (printing, shipping, retail shelf space!) - Physical is subject to property damage (I've had more than one game rendered unfinishable by scratches that would lead to the game freezing during a FMV cutscene) - Physical enables secondhand markets that are basically equivalent to piracy for publishers, except worse because it involves customers willing to pay for their games - Physical production ceases pretty shortly after release because of the above, which means new copies cease to be created, and eventually the copies that were produced are lost to the ravages of time The only way to actually preserve a game is with DRM-free digital copies that you can freely reproduce onto whatever physical media you prefer. The only way for publishers to ensure they can sell their games indefinitely is by controlling how they're sold and distributed, which requires digital releases (far more affordable) and maybe DRM (if they want to avoid losing sales to people willing to pay $0 and risk running dangerous software). Whichever side of the consumer vs publisher spectrum that you're on, the ultimate answer is digital, for different reasons.

@MJDMYBBY @_Twinndiesel Sure they have sales/deals. You can also walk into any GameStop and find cheaper copies of games going for full price on the psn store. You don't have to do sony's job for them.

@_Twinndiesel @PuttymanPlays I'm absolutely upset and obviously outnumbered. I'm saying there is still a demand for physical, and its growing. I'm not interested in proving you wrong. Your opinion and apathy for physical is bad for consumers and helps further the corporate agenda.

@PuttymanPlays @_Twinndiesel Both Sony and rockstars decisions this week are not popular as anyone can tell by the opposition to it. They're just greedy corps.

@_Twinndiesel @JasonFrizbee “Corporate d-rider” seems to be a new cope for people to think they’re right. I’ve seen it all week with this and the gta news.

@_Twinndiesel You shouldn't be paying full price for a digital copy of a game if there's no production cost of a disc, the prices will only go up if GTA is any indicator. Just corporate greed ruining another cool thing. Fuck Sony for this for real!

@_Twinndiesel It's a hard truth for sure. Physical sales are clearly not what they used to be but data also shows a rise in physical media collection across vinyl, 4k, tapes, CD's, VHS even. Why bring up production cost when you can find physical copies much cheaper than digital?

Hi. Nelsonmom here! I popped into the @PetSmart in Victoria, TX (store #1449) on a whim and found this: water so putrid you can’t even see the bettas through the cloud of their own waste. One was floating at the top of their cup, on the edge of death. Do you know how many DAYS of neglect it takes for water to get like this? In cups this small, water changes should happen once a day, at a minimum. Every time a fish breathes out, they produce ammonia into this closed system. When they breathe it back in, it burns their gills. It *hurts*. It causes psychological stress and organ damage. Every. Single. Breath. Treating fish like this at the start of their journey sets them up for shorter lives, weaker immune systems, and greater susceptibility to illness, even if they’re lucky enough to get a perfect owner and setup (and many of them will not get the perfect owner and setup). I asked an employee in the fish department when they’re going to chance the bettas’ water — that they’re “rotting in their own waste” — and I received the most disinterested, uncaring “soon” of all time. Meanwhile there was a cart of freshly-unboxed bettas in their medicated, Methylene blue water nearby. The latest recruits in a chain of corporate cruelty that sees living animals as disposable products. Betta fish are the most delightful, wonderful creatures with unique personalities. It sickens me to my CORE to see a dozen+ little lives as valuable as my late Apollo’s. He is a betta (from a breeder, not a big box store) that I loved so much, I still cry about him FOUR years after his death. I know retail associates are underpaid and overworked. But if you stock LIVING, FEELING creatures as products in your stores, your first priority should be their welfare. If you can’t do that, you should not sell animals. Period. Like, give me a bottle of water conditioner and 30 fucking minutes and I’ll change the water for free myself. Zero excuse for this. Nelson fans and animal lovers, please let @PetSmart know how you feel about this.
