@IFindTheLost @americanminivan In John 9:9, the man who Jesus cured of blindness identifies himself to the crowd by saying, “I am the man.” Peter also uses “ego eimi” in Acts 10:21 saying, "I am the one you are looking for." This shows that “ego eimi” was not a claim to divinity.

@IFindTheLost @americanminivan Many think this verse references Exodus 3:14, where God says "I AM THAT I AM" (according to the KJV). In John 8:58, Jesus doesn’t say “I AM THAT I AM.” He wasn’t even speaking Hebrew. The common Greek phrase “ego eimi” is a common expression in the Bible.

@Rebel4YHWH76 @americanminivan Many twist Jesus' words in John 8:58 saying that Jesus is claiming to be YHWH, but in this verse Jesus is talking about his pre-human existence. Several translations render this verse "Before Abraham existed, I have been" or "I existed before Abraham was born."

@ThomBradley8 @americanminivan Acts chapter 7 says that when Stephen was being stoned to death, he looked up to heaven and saw Jesus standing at God’s right hand. How can Jesus be God if he is standing at God’s right hand?

@americanminivan Jesus revealed the trinity in the Gospels. The apostles did teach it and they passed it down to the early church fathers. The Creed clearly teaches it and the councils of the first millennia confirm it. God is three persons one being. The Trinity is correct theology.

The Bible gives no pattern for salvation in which one must believe in anything remotely close to the Trinity. Jesus never taught it, nor did the apostles.

@sashuwa77246 @Dom1968Juan @RedNation1492 Philippians 2:9-11 says that God exalted Jesus so that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow … and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” The ultimate glory goes to God the Father.

@sashuwa77246 @Dom1968Juan @RedNation1492 When Jesus said “I and the Father are one," he was refering to unity of purpose. In John 17:22, Jesus prayed that his disciples also would be one “just as we are one.” The disciples were one in purpose, not substance.

@sashuwa77246 @Dom1968Juan @RedNation1492 The Greek word proskyneo can mean “worship,” but it can also mean “pay homage,” “bow down,” or “do obeisance.” In Matthew 18:26 the servant falls down before his master pleading for mercy; the NIV translates proskyneo here as “fell on his knees before him.”

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks Colossians 1:15 and Revelation 3:14 show that Jesus had a beginning as the “firstborn of all creation” and the “beginning of God’s creation.” He is "of" creation. Jesus is also referred to as the “only-begotten”, which implies that he is a created being.

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks The Holy Spirit is referred to as the Spirit of God throughout scripture so that’s a given. Those verses affirm Christ’s divinity. No not a small g “god” because that is referring to created beings such as angels. And Christ is uncreated.

@BigAltcoinPumps @praisejah2016 The discovery of older Greek manuscripts showed that the word "God" was not originally in this verse. Most newer translations read, "He who was manifest in the flesh." This alternation from “He who” to “God” began to appeared in the 4th century, apparently to support the Trinity.

What was the hope of Jesus: to have a throne beside God's. Jesus is not God. He is the Son of God Jehovah God is the Father Hebrews12:2 "as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus. For the joy that was set before him he endured a torture stake, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

@Truth_matters20 William Wilson's Old Testament Word Studies says re: the Hebrew word “yohm”: "A day; it is frequently put for time in general, or for a long time; a whole period under consideration . . . Day is also put for a particular season or time when any extraordinary event happens.”

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks That’s literally not even true. And you’d first have to justify why your interpretation of the verse is actually correct and that 2000 years of Christianity has accepted Christ as God. On what authority are you right and every Church Father succeeded from the apostles is wrong?

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks These early translators, uninfluenced by later creeds, understood the anarthrous Greek θεός qualitatively, and their choice of an indefinite article confirms that John 1:1 does not identify the Word as the one true God.

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks One of the earliest translations of John was into the Sahidic Coptic language in the 3rd century (before the Trinity became official church doctrine). It uses an indefinite article in the final part of John 1:1. A literal translation to English reads, “And a god was the Word."

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks It’s capitalized and emphasized as I AM in the Septuagint which is the earliest compilation of the Old Testament. You’re just making assertions based on a personal interpretation to justify a heresy that was squashed over a thousand years ago.

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks Jesus wasn't quoting from the OT. He was just saying he existed before Abraham. He used the common Greek phrase “ego eimi,” which is used by several other people in the Bible. Jesus is not saying "I AM" as if he were claiming a title belonging to God.

@alexlyle @praisejah2016 Without the definite article, theos is describing a characteristic or quality of the Word. The Word is “divine,” “a god,” or “god-like,” but not the same as ho theos (“the God”). Also, John 1:1 says “the Word was with God.” If the Word was with God, the Word can’t be God.

The #Trinity is Destroyed by Scripture! We hope that the believers will grasp the Truth: Jehovah is God Almighty -- Jesus is His first creation who helped create everything -- John 8:58 agrees. Col.1:15, Rev.3:14. Jesus was an angel in Heaven, he was close to the throne as the highest ranking Archangel, the Word/spokesman of God. John did not believe Jesus was God. He expresses the truth: Jesus was with God before the material creation. The Word was with God. That's the same as Stephen said : Jesus was with God. According to God, that is divine truth because it is testified by 2 witnesses. Deut.19:15 Jesus was with God. Seeing that everyone knowing Jesus did not believe he was God Almighty. Apostates began to enter the congregations as John testifies. As antichrists, these brought philosophy into the the true worship. These said Jesus was not only with God, he was God 200 years after all the eyewitnesses had died. The Romans did not want to worship a God of those they conquered, so they created a new God, better than the God of the Jews. It was popular, because it made God relatable through Jesus. The church hid the Bible and called people heretics if they disagreed, even murdering people who wanted to translate the Bible that the common people could read it. However, they did not have the divine authority to do so. The clergy will be seen as bloodguilty in the judgment. The church is drenched in bloodguilt. God warns people living in the days before the Great Tribulation at Revelation 18:4 "And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues." We have left her, see the truth she hides at jw.org

@alexlyle @praisejah2016 How can the Word be "with God" (ho theos) and also be God (ho theos)? He can't. That is why John 1:1 differentiates between "ho theos" and "theos" (“God” and “god”). It is similar to John 1:18. How can the Word be God (ho theos) when "no one has seen God (ho theos) at any time”?
