@adelethelaptop What lies? She birthed God in the flesh? Because that’s true. Yall consistently minimize her importance, as if she’s “just like us.” But she’s not. The rest of us didn’t give birth to Christ.

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks Begotten does not mean created it has never once been interpreted that way by any Christian before Arius (a heretic) And “beginning of creation” is because it was through the Son that all things were created as is stated by Christ Himself.

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks Colossians 1:15 and Revelation 3:14 show that Jesus had a beginning as the “firstborn of all creation” and the “beginning of God’s creation.” He is "of" creation. Jesus is also referred to as the “only-begotten”, which implies that he is a created being.

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks The Holy Spirit is referred to as the Spirit of God throughout scripture so that’s a given. Those verses affirm Christ’s divinity. No not a small g “god” because that is referring to created beings such as angels. And Christ is uncreated.

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks It’s capitalized and emphasized as I AM in the Septuagint which is the earliest compilation of the Old Testament. You’re just making assertions based on a personal interpretation to justify a heresy that was squashed over a thousand years ago.

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks When Jesus said, “Before Abraham was born, I am,” he was simply stating that he existed before Abraham. Also, Koine Greek does not use upper or lower case letters to distinguish divine titles like “I AM.” Capitalizing “I AM” is very misleading.

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks When Jesus said “I and the Father are one,” he was talking about unity of purpose with God the Father. This unity of purpose extended to his followers. In John 17:22, Jesus prayed to God saying, "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one."

@JasonRitchze @CertainSpeaks That’s literally not even true. And you’d first have to justify why your interpretation of the verse is actually correct and that 2000 years of Christianity has accepted Christ as God. On what authority are you right and every Church Father succeeded from the apostles is wrong?

@OrthoSpoon @CertainSpeaks If John wanted to say that the Word is God, he could have written “ho logos en ho theos.” But he didn’t. He made a distinction between ho theos and theos. The lack of the definite article describes a quality of the Word. The Word is like God, divine, “a god” but not God himself.

For all you Catholics, who say that Protestants think that the gates of hell prevailed against the church How do you get around the fact that the papist church had a period of about 700 years where the blood of Christ was withheld from his people till the 1960s

It's 2026. It's time for the Orthodox and Roman Catholics to stop using the phrase "We created the bible." Everyone knows you're lying.

If you left Protestantism for Catholicism, that’s not a move upwards but a fall from biblical authority.

@realmikolson Where in the Bible does it say Mary actively sinned? Specifically. Since you’re all Sola Scriptura and what not. No assumptions or inferences, I want chapter and verse.

Things Mary never did: - lived a sinless life - gave her life for ours - atoned for our sins at the cross - was resurrected from the dead as proof the atonement was fully satisfied - sat down at the right hand of the Father - tore the curtain in two - crushed the head of the serpent (Genesis 3) - imputed her righteousness to our account - now makes intercession for us with the Father Yes, Mary is blessed [because Jesus is]. But Mary does not deserve our worship. Jesus alone does.

lots of strange reactions to this game. let’s clear some things up: childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys). men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s. men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator. and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points. this should explain why a “dad simulator” game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.
