Annual interest on $25 billion CAD in Canadian government debt would be roughly $700 million to $950 million CAD, depending on the interest rate (typically 2.8–3.8% for federal borrowing in 2026). bankofcanada.ca Key Context and Calculations • Current market rates (as of early May 2026): Government of Canada 10-year bond yields are around 3.4–3.6%. Shorter-term rates (e.g., 2-year) are lower, around 2.8–3.0%. tradingeconomics.com • Effective average rate on existing federal market debt: Recently around 2.76% (as rates have declined). canada.ca Simple annual interest estimates (principal × rate): • At 2.76% (recent effective average): ~$690 million. • At 3.0%: ~$750 million. • At 3.5% (near current 10-year yield): ~$875 million. • At 4.0% (higher/stress scenario): ~$1 billion. These assume simple interest on new debt issued at prevailing yields. Actual costs depend on maturity mix (short-term T-bills are cheaper but roll over more often), issuance timing, and any swaps/hedging.

‼️UNBELIEVABLE: Liberals announced their $25 billion sovereign debt fund without even consulting costing plans with the Bank of Canada! A debt-financed fund isn’t neutral, it has real monetary consequences the Bank of Canada has to manage. Issuing $25B in new debt increases supply of government bonds that can push yields higher and raise borrowing costs economy-wide. #cndpoli

They let millions of non-citizens into the country (record, unsustainable numbers) without a way to track if they would leave. Many of those non-citizens' permits are now expired. Still no way to track exits. And they're still issuing hundreds of thousands of new permits.

The Carney Files 🇨🇦 | Sourced
🚨 YOUR PRIME MINISTER JUST BORROWED $25 BILLION IN YOUR NAME AND IT'S GOING TO COST YOU $1.54 MILLION EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Carney calls it the 'Canada Strong Fund'. But it actually makes you and your family poor. I'm going to make sure that you, and EVERY SINGLE CANADIAN understand exactly how this debt harms you. Then I'll show you where every dollar flows straight into Brookfield. And by how much the Prime Minister is personally set to profit from it. I'm breaking this down in plain english. So even if you know nothing about finance or politics, This is for you. Follow along. Turn on your notifications so you don't miss anything.🔔 Next we drop the Brookfield receipts👀 But first: This is how Carney is making himself rich at the expense of making YOU poor. 🧵

Ottawa did not betray Canadians. The Liberals did. They gaslit us: Told us we would have reduced immigration. Yet they fast track those that were brought in on a temporary basis. Told us they would take care of the youth. They have the highest unemployment rate in decades. Told us we were crazy for thinking immigration impacted the price of homes. Then they admitted it was the case. Told us that healthcare delays, were a provincial issue. Then provinces told us immigration was the cause of issues. We have 1.9 million permits that expire this year. The Liberals do not have a plan. But I think they do. I think their plan is to continue down this path. AND IMPORT VOTERS.

🇨🇦 Hard to buy groceries. 🥚 Impossible to buy a home. 🏠 Yet Mark Carney is focused on renovating 24 Sussex so visiting dignitaries have a more "exciting" place to stay. The ABSOLUTE DISCONNECT is breathtaking.🙇🏻🤔 #Cdnpoli #costofliving

ABSOLUTE DISCONNECT. Canadians can’t afford groceries. Housing is out of reach. And Mark Carney is focused on renovating 24 Sussex so world leaders have a more exciting place to visit.

I just had an ahah💡moment. Danielle Smith refused to get rid of the tax on fuel so that carney could and it would make him look good We also paid that tax so that he could look like he lowered his budget from 75 to 68 billion She is absolutely in his pocket and I am disgusted

The UCP is raking in oil revenues while you're stuck choosing between a full tank and a full cart of groceries. That's a choice no family should face. Albertans deserve a break. Removing the provincial gas tax would help.

Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne declared that "the dream of Canada is alive and well," arguing that young people increasingly see themselves building a strong future in the country. Good luck winning the next election with that line.

@wealthmoose @slk55again In the event of a bankruptcy that is the first thing to go along with resource assets. The globalist bankers will be lining up to grab it all. Who is Mark Carney again? Is that on his amazing resume?
