.@FireflySpace is preparing to launch a lunar lander to the far side of the Moon, and there is a significant monetization opportunity there, says CEO @jason_lil_kim. “We’ll be able to sell that data commercially just like we did on Blue Ghost Mission one over five years, and it’s gonna help NASA scientists understand the physical futures of the moon. Commercial companies can buy the data so that they can survey where the best place is to mine for minerals.” Kim also points to rising demand for future moon bases, where the same data becomes critical for deciding where to build and how to operate.

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

Moving on up! With Alpha Flight 8 in the integration and test phase, we're hitting stride on our Automated Fiber Placement machine and building four carbon composite barrels at once for multiple flights. These automated manufacturing processes allow us to enhance quality and reliability across the vehicle as part of our Alpha Block II upgrade.

Big things happening at the Rocket Ranch! Standing 95 ft tall, our first stage tanks for our Eclipse rocket are on the stand for structural testing. This risk reduction test will push the tanks beyond their limits to verify our flight margins. More to come soon!
