@Putin_Will_Fall @billybinion It's not merit-based when Indians refuse to hire non-Indians. It's racist, pure and simple. And I'm done with you. Go ahead and have the last word. I've got better things to do than try to answer a Gish gallop.

@JayMaynard @billybinion Hiring takes many steps; no one manager gets to dominate. It’s a complex process. You also implied we can’t trust the Americans who get hired. Merit-based systems will lead to disparate results. Deal with it, cupcake.

I will never not find it fascinating that some of the most brazen hostility toward legal immigrants comes from children of immigrants or from immigrants themselves. There's a real tradition of pulling the ladder up right after you finish climbing it. It is so strange.

@JayMaynard @billybinion Can you show me proof of lower wages, idiot? They’re not underpaid at all. Dude I know plenty of American tech workers - all have said positive things only. You’re coping hard. You can’t give anything concrete.

@Putin_Will_Fall @billybinion My interviewer at Amazon was Indian. So was all but two of his group. And that was a few years ago now; I'm told that the Indian quotient at Amazon has only gone way up - by people who are there.

@JayMaynard @billybinion What reports? Anon accounts? Most interviewers aren’t Indian. Most PR aren’t Indian. Show me one person from google or Tesla who claims this. Do you realize how retarded you sound?

@Putin_Will_Fall @billybinion The proof of lower skills is in the testimony of all fo the people who've had to deal with the crap that H-1Bs produce and try to fix it. And none of the firms may need lower wages, but they're paying them anyway.

@JayMaynard @billybinion Proof? Why has no one from Tesla, Microsoft, etc. shown that? Most H1Bs don’t get special training or lower wages. You have no proof of lower skills. Why are these firms even in America then? None of these firms need lower wages. They’re rich.

@Putin_Will_Fall @billybinion You're ignoring one factor, though: the ones doing the interviewing are products of the same H-1B system. Look at all of the reports of Indians who become managers and won't hire anyone but other Indians. Yes, the system is flawed.

@JayMaynard @billybinion H1Bs have to pass the same interviews. If we can’t trust that, there’s no reason to trust that Americans are competent. You’re arguing the entire system is flawed.

@travis4nh @nhrepburroughs "The good news is that a candidate has already stepped forward to challenge Corcoran should he seek reelection in 2026. Voters in his district will ultimately decide whether this behavior reflects their values." That sounds like a "please don't throw me in that briar patch!"...

@SLMcEvil @daddysboo7 @jackjaypalmer @fundadorisback I got lucky: as a z/OS systems programmer, I was able to land a remote gig that I'm hoping to retire from in a few years. But I got back into mainframes after years as a software developer, and got squeezed out by the flood of H-1Bs.

I want to reiterate. As I testified to Congress, In my 23 year IT career I managed over 3k H1Bs. Of the 3K there were maybe 15 to 20 that were qualified. Everyone else were "freshers" and their English efficiency was 10% or less. You could not put them in front of the client. They worked 8 hours on-site and 10 hours at night online back to India to accomplish their task. @AAGDhillon @amandalouise416 @BMooreSenate @1819News @USTechWorkers @iaproject @thencamekevin @RealWaKhan @ChiefEngineerCE @NeilMunroDC

@grok @esrtweet @GreeneElizabeth @grok, how many people from India in the software industry originally came on H-1Bs and then received some other immigration status, including green card and citizenship?

**Rough estimate: Around 300,000–400,000 Indian H-1B holders are currently working in U.S. software/tech roles.** India gets ~70-73% of H-1B approvals (e.g., ~283k of ~400k total in recent FY data). Total active H-1B population is estimated at 600k–800k. Computer-related occupations (programming, systems analysis, etc.) account for ~65% of H-1Bs—and Indians dominate that category. Exact stock figures aren't published in real-time by USCIS, but this aligns with trends through FY2025.

One of the more transparent forms of dishonesty on the current political scene is using high-skill immigration (the kind of people who come in on O-1 visas) to argue against the kind of border controls that might keep out violent low-IQ riffraff. You open-borders advocates out there are not helping your case with people like me who have libertarian inclinations towards a moderate policy by talking as though restrictionists don't want more Elon Musks in this country. Stop this. You're not fooling anybody. What the restrictionists want is not to have this country flooded with handout-seeking trash who refuse to assimilate and drive down wages. These are not O-1 people they are talking about, if only because the reality is that there are so few potential immigrant geniuses in the world that they can't have any effect on the job market that's distinguishable from statistical noise. The restrictionists are falling into an error of their own. They're getting angrier and angrier about trash immigrants - which is reasonable - and overreacting into trying to shut down all legal immigration and even denaturalize people here who aren't welfare clients. Which is not reasonable. If that happens - and it might - the blame should fall on everybody who advocated for heavily subsidizing trash immigrants. Illiterate truck drivers who murder families, MS-13 gangbangers, Somali health-care fraudsters, and the like. There is no good case for not deporting these people, and when you whine about losing top scientists you are not just talking past the real problem, you are insulting everyone's intelligence. There will be a reckoning for these abuses. I think every attempt you make to change the subject and delay it will eventually make it harsher.

@p_bruce73752 @esrtweet For that matter, when recruiters approach me, they're nearly always people with strong Indian accents. I have a hard time even understanding them, at times.

@billybinion @Putin_Will_Fall Tell that to good American software engineers replaced by lower-paid H-1Bs they had to train before being laid off - and whose replacements are nowhere near as able.

@Putin_Will_Fall Low-skilled immigrants, by definition, cannot displace people filling jobs that require high skills. They're two different groups. There are some jobs in this country that Americans generally don't want to do.

@periodicaudio @esrtweet A laudable start, but there are other issues, chief among them that there are entire companies set up to bring in H-1Bs for nonexistent openings and then get them established in the US. There is only one answer that fixes the problem so it will stay fixed: end the H-1B program.

@ohioaninexile @NatashaRSarin I'll freely grant that Nixon was a much better president than people give him credit for...but he did do some things, like wage and price controls, that disqualify him as best of the century.

"You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman...you cannot become a German or a Turk... But anyone from any corner of the world can come to America to live and become an American." -Ronald Reagan on one of our greatest strengths, which we seem eager to destroy
Homeland Security@DHSgov

An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.

@NatashaRSarin Key words: "become an American". The third world immigrants - legal and otherwise - we're being invaded by want no part of becoming an American. They want to stay just as they are and apply their third world approach to live to living in the US. They can go the hell home.

People called me crazy for walking away from a career I loved. But life is short, and I was not willing to sit on the sidelines while everything I care about was on the line. I will not be cancelled. I will not apologize for values that are wholesome and good. And if my voice gives someone else the courage to use theirs, that is exactly why I did it.

*some years back I went to the auction of all the stuff from Threadgill's in Austin; porcelain and neon signage, petroliana and such. Mindblowing prices paid for it. Threadgill's owner Eddie Wilson gave a little talk. Said he hoped the statute of limitations was expired, because he pretty much got all that stuff from abandoned road houses, cafes, and gas stations out in the Texas countryside in the early 1970s.

@realDonaldTrump Imagine tanking your reputation just to silence comedians 😭👇 @grok serious question: why does Trump react to comedians like they’re bigger threats than inflation or healthcare? 🤔
