Let's be honest. Alan Peter Cayetano should be held accountable for Bato's escape. He should be included in the investigation.

Someone has to be made accountable for Bato’s escape. No less than the DILG Secretary and PNP Chief entered the senate building last night to secure the senators. The public was assured last night Bato was in the “5th foor, in his room, resting”. Bato’s lawyer showed a video last night of Bato supposedly in the senate. The senate building should’ve been secured last night - no one in, no one out. We need answers. How did Bato escape? Who helped him?

Napaka walang kwenta ni Alan Peter Cayetano to let this happen. Gunshots in the Senate. If anyone dies or gets injured, this is the fault of Bato and Alan Peter. Alan Peter should resign from the Senate.

‘FOR THE RECORD, SA KOTSE KO SUMAKAY SI SENATOR BATO’ UPDATE: Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano confirms Senator Ronald dela Rosa used his car to enter the Senate premises on Monday, May 11. Cayetano made the admission after his sister, Senator Pia Cayetano, took offense at Senator Panfilo Lacson’s public statement that her car was used. Senator Pia said there was nothing wrong with this, except that there were aspersions she sneaked Dela Rosa in. Lacson has apologized. | @eimorpsantos

'I WAS ALMOST SHOCKED, MAHIRAP PANIWALAAN' Inamin ni Sen. Sotto sa programang "Ted Failon and DJ Chacha" ngayong Miyerkules, May 13. "Hindi naman ganun 'yung feeling ko [masakit], sa akin lang, at least alam ko na ang kulay mo after all these years," dagdag pa niya.

@arvpasc70 @bncdotph Dude obviously what it meant is the supreme court of another country cannot override any decision of the ICC in its court just as the ICC cannot override any decision of a supreme court of a sovereign country..

BREAKING: The Department of Justice said the Philippines may surrender a suspected or arrested person to an international court or tribunal under Republic Act 9851, following a recent attempt at Senate to arrest Sen. Bato dela Rosa through a warrant of arrest from the ICC. “Yes, same position. Under RA 9851, we may surrender a suspected or arrested person in the Philippines to the appropriate international court or tribunal. The other mode is extradition,” DOJ spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez told reporters. This comes after National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Melvin Matinag said earlier they would consult the DOJ on the implementation of ICC arrest warrant. | via @chedcgatchalian, bnc.ph

‘KANINO BA TALAGA KAKAMPI ANG TAONG ITO?’ Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV raised questions over Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla’s handling of the situation involving Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, after the International Criminal Court confirmed it had issued an arrest warrant against the senator. In a News5 interview on Tuesday, May 12, Trillanes said he was “doubtful” of Remulla’s loyalty, citing his earlier claim that 10,000 police officers were deployed to track individuals linked to the case. He questioned why no arrest was made despite reports that a warrant had been issued as early as November. Trillanes also pointed to Remulla’s statement that the warrant could not be enforced, asking, “Kanino ba talaga kakampi ang taong ito?” He further criticized the DILG chief, saying less time on press briefings could have led to more arrests, and noting that several fugitives remain at large. The remarks came after Trillanes presented what he said was the ICC warrant at the Senate on May 11, when the chamber was rocked by tense scenes involving Dela Rosa, including a reported pursuit by NBI agents and his later placement under Senate protective custody. The ICC has since confirmed it issued an arrest warrant against Dela Rosa, ending earlier uncertainty over its status.

'NAKAKAHIYA NAMAN — DAHIL SA IMPEACHMENT LANG, MAGPAPALIT NG LIDERATO' WATCH: Senator Erwin Tulfo denies knowledge of any efforts to unseat Senate President Tito Sotto ahead of a potential impeachment trial, adding that he sees no need for a change in leadership. Senator Loren Legarda, another member of the majority bloc, says "wala naman" but she stopped short of confirming whether colleagues had approached her regarding a brewing leadership coup. | @eimorpsantos

THOSE WHO STOOD BY SOTTO Sens. Ping Lacson, Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Bam Aquino, Lito Lapid, Raffy Tulfo, Erwin Tulfo and Sherwin Gatchalian were among the senators who voted to keep Tito Sotto as Senate President during Monday’s leadership shakeup. Their bloc stood in contrast to Duterte-aligned senators who backed Alan Peter Cayetano, whose camp ultimately secured enough votes to take control of the chamber, ending Sotto’s tenure in a sudden shift that comes as the Senate prepares for a critical impeachment process involving Vice President Sara Duterte. ‘HINDI AKO AATRAS’ Nagpasalamat si Sen. Bato dela Rosa sa kanyang mga taga-suporta na nagtipon sa labas ng Senado matapos umano itong subukang arestuhin ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). “Hindi ako aatras… para sa bayan. Ayusin natin ang Pilipinas para sa bayang ito,” saad ni Sen. Bato sa isang video call sa kanyang mga taga-suporta. He spun it as related to the impeachment but the real reason appears to be his approval of allowing the Trillanes-led NBI to stage a daring arrest while in session. No wonder, he was not made aware of it and SP Cayetano said he was not able to go to his office because of security reasons. A lot of backroom moves. Kaya nagulat.
Alex Bonifacio@AlexBNFC

Watching this Sotto struggle to grasp what’s happening is surreal. Despite assurances from Bongbong Marcos that his Senate presidency was secure, his colleagues ousted him after reports surfaced that he allowed the NBI to arrest a senator inside Senate grounds. Pinamerienda pa!
