The fly ball metrics at Angel Stadium are standing out as odd this year
There have been just 1.76 HRs / game, which actually isn't that strange by itself. The weird thing is how fly ball distance has taken a nosedive.
It's the most significant yearly change for any park since at least 2016 (2.51 std deviations from its mean)
(This calculation is based on "expected" distance from the fly balls that are hit. So it controls for player performance. In other words, if the Angels had a terrible lineup and excellent pitching, this number wouldn't be affected by that.)

🚨Last week, Kalshi's CEO Tarek Mansour confirmed that nearly 70% of retail users lose money on its platform. He went on to explain that winning requires "copious amounts of money, time, resources, energy" and that serious players "hire people" and "dedicate their lives" to this. Sounds less like "play against your neighbor" and more like a Wall Street trading desk.

50.1% of the time for umps under 40
54% for umps in their 40s
57.2% for umps in 50s
