It’s real! 📕 If you pre-order now it’ll help me get on some 2026 reading lists! 🤞🏼 For the gamblers, I write about counting, edge sorting, holecarding, and beating a California card room with a move I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere else. penguinrandomhouse.com/books/826945/a…

One of the sickest poker stories I have ever read: Four Seasons, late 2000s. Rick Salomon arrives. Houston Curtis (the real “Player X” from Molly’s Game) was already stuck $500K that night. He asked Molly Bloom for another half a million to stay in. She hesitated, reminded him about his wife’s birthday party. He said “what’s the difference at this point” and took the chips. Hours pass. The sun comes up. Everyone’s exhausted. Finally, Curtis picks up AQs, his best hand in hours. He raises to $40K preflop. Rick, holding nothing, smiles and calls. Flop: Q72 rainbow. Top pair. Rick bets, Curtis raises, Rick shoves. Curtis snap-calls, sure he’s got it. The river comes. Rick flips over 6-3 offsuit. He’d called preflop with nothing, picked up a gutshot on the turn, and rivered a miracle straight to scoop a million dollars. Curtis walked out of the Four Seasons. He drove home, not even remembering the drive. His daughter ran into his arms and he broke down crying. His liquid bankroll: gone. In one night. The only person he could call who’d actually understand what just happened? Tobey Maguire. He called him and sorted out a deal. Eventually he won the money back. The big lesson here is to never play outside your bankroll.

I ride my bike 20 miles, 4 times a week. I took off this morning at 7:30 a.m., and it was 97. At the end of my ride at 9:30, it was 104. It is now 114. Damned hot.

Usually these stories don’t end well for the players, but let’s hope this one’s the exception

An Iowa man bet just over $300 on a loophole he found in a sportsbook's own rules. His bet should have paid out $14 MILLION. The company canceled it and sent his money back instead. – Nicholas Bavas, a bettor from Iowa, found what he believed was a near-guaranteed exploit in how DraftKings priced certain wagers. – He placed roughly $300 across bets structured to profit no matter the outcome, if DraftKings' own odds and rules were taken at face value. – Had DraftKings paid out as the bets were technically written, Bavas stood to collect more than $14 MILLION. – Instead, DraftKings unilaterally voided the bets and simply refunded his original stake, citing its house rules about pricing errors. – Bavas sued in a 39-page breach of contract complaint, arguing a bet is a contract, and if DraftKings accepts it, it owes what it promised. – His attorney said DraftKings gave no real explanation beyond telling him the bet wouldn't be honored. – The case was moved from Iowa state court into federal court in Des Moines. – As of the most recent public reporting, the case remains in litigation, with no public ruling yet on whether Bavas is entitled to any of the $14 MILLION. A $300 bet built entirely around the sportsbook's own rules should have paid him more than most people make in a decade. The company just canceled it and mailed his money back.

A man won £1.7 MILLION playing blackjack online at 1am. The casino called the next morning to congratulate him. Then called back two days later to say there was a software glitch and they were keeping the money. They offered him £60,000 to stay quiet and sign a document promising never to talk about it. He said no. – Andrew Green was a 54 year old from a small village in Lincolnshire England. – Just after midnight on January 26 2018 he opened the Betfred app and started playing a blackjack game called Frankie Dettori's Magic Seven. – He played for five and a half hours straight. – When he finally stopped the screen showed £1,722,500.24 in winnings. – He called Betfred. They congratulated him. Told him to call back after 9:30am to arrange collection. – He went out that night and celebrated with his family. Spent £2,500 on dinner. He was already a millionaire in his head. – Monday morning he called back. They said the win was so large it needed to be sent to the game provider Playtech for verification. Standard procedure they said. – Wednesday Betfred called again. Playtech had found a software glitch. The win was void and he would not be paid. – Their offer was £60,000 but on one condition. He had to sign a non-disclosure agreement promising never to discuss what had happened. – He said no. – He sued and the case went to the High Court in London. – The judge ruled Betfred's terms and conditions were not transparent and not fair. They could not rely on them to withhold payment. – Three years after he won the money the court ordered Betfred to pay the full £1.7 MILLION plus interest. – Standing outside the High Court he said "The last three years have felt like hell on earth. I think Betfred have treated me abysmally." – Betfred apologised for the delay. – They never explained how many other players hit the same glitch and quietly accepted the £60,000. A man won £1.7 MILLION at 1am, spent £2,500 celebrating before the money arrived, then spent three years in court to collect what was already his.

@Mook_Franchize I know. The original title was Miss Brown's Education. Before my pub deal I was shopping a tv show & the writers independently chose to call it Advantage Player. Then I got my pub deal, submitted my proposal with Miss Brown's Education but they preferred AP, and now here we are.

Advantage Player got its first published review from Kirkus. I think it was written by a non-gambler… “Morally challenging…” But I don’t disagree. They added, “There’s a lot of shop talk in this memoir that gamblers, at least, will find interesting.” kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/g…

GLP-1s might be a longevity drug. They are also the biggest breakthrough in weight loss. I just added them to my Rx longevity platform. Recently I went to Australia, and I experienced a huge spike in food noise. The desire to eat constantly, even when I wasn't hungry. Even when I was full. A 7 hr time zone shift scrambled my hunger hormones. It reminded me how debilitating food noise is. How food can become the only thing the brain thinks about, edging out everything else. Years ago, I couldn’t stop myself from overeating every night. I was 60 lbs overweight, stressed out, and felt awful all the time. I imagined going back in time to when I was helpless to control my eating and being presented with a drug like a GLP-1, which can flip the switch and turn down the food noise. GLP-1s are more than weight loss, they’ve been shown in studies to: + lower blood pressure + improve blood sugar regulation + reduce lipid levels and inflammatory markers We just added 6 GLP-1s for weight loss and longevity to immortals dot com. This includes brand name meds and compounded options for personalized treatment. Brand name: Zepbound® (KwikPen®) Wegovy® (injections) Wegovy® (tablets) Foundayo® (tablets) Compounded options: Personalized Tirzepatide (injections) Personalized Semaglutide (injections)
