I REFUSE to buy into the narratives surrounding Dalton Kincaid. That he won’t ever be fantasy-relevant. That he’ll never see a full-time role – because he “can’t block.” That any TE who can’t block is destined for a part-time role “like Kincaid.” It’s almost like nobody wants to acknowledge Dalton Kincaid’s playing time has also been heavily affected by recurring knee injuries. Or how he’s only played 3 seasons & TE’s don’t typically even peak until YR5. Or how he’s led all TE’s in targets per-route run each of the last 2 seasons. There are TE’s who are just as bad – or worse – as blockers, who had much higher route participation than Kincaid last year. How is that possible??? I’m sorry but there is just no way he was being held below 50% route participation just based on blocking issues alone; maybe below 70%, but below 50%? of strictly passing plays? There were CLEARLY other mitigating factors. Kincaid averaged 10.5 PPG on a bum knee just last year; posted 70+ receptions as a rookie. You give that man a clean bill of health & route participation more in line with the other “bad blockers, good receivers” across the league & you’re probably looking at 12+ PPG & a Top-5 fantasy finish – with not a single person referring to him as an example of a “bad” outcome. The amount this one single player has been chosen as an example & used to shape the entire discourse around the TE position – when none of that discourse accounts for any sort of context surrounding the player himself – absolutely boggles my mind.

🇺🇳 The UN Security Council votes this morning on a resolution authorizing military force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The resolution was drafted by Bahrain and has the support of Gulf Arab states. It would give countries legal cover to use force to restore free shipping through the strait. One problem: China and Russia both have veto power. One thing I’ll say to Steelers fans that may still be feeling a little weary about Mike McCarthy is this. When you have an emotional connection to something, it drives you. It pushes you in ways that nothing else or anybody else can. That energy it instills within you is life-changing. Mike McCarthy has that deeply rooted connection to this city. Just listen to how he talks about Pittsburgh. He sounds like a kid waking up on Christmas morning. I don’t know about you, but having a coach that feels that way about the city he not only grew up in, but is also now the HC of, is somebody I will always want to play for. The way he loves this city is the same way he’s going to love and coach his players. That’s a very big reason why I believe he will be successful.

In general, I dont pay too much attention to 40 times. Its a skill that he was clearly not focused on. He runs fast enough on game tape.

I literally couldnt care less about his 40 time. Im actually glad he ran like shit. I draft mid to late in all my drafts and never get those 1.01 to 1.05 draft picks. Maybe this will let him fall to me or at least fall enough I can trade up and get him in at least 1 league.
