Congress is attempting to push forward permanent Daylight Saving Time tomorrow. Tell your rep to oppose its 8:30am sunrises, restore permanent Standard Time for natural health and safety instead! votervoice.net/ditchDST/Campa…

The winning time for Golden Tempo in today’s Kentucky Derby was 2:02.27. Secretariat’s winning time in 1973 was 1:59.4. That’s a difference of 2.87 seconds. That translates to Secretariat beating Golden Tempo by over 17 lengths. Big Red’s record stands after 53 years. Legendary.

Sorry, but nope. The Church began legal action to protect its IP against Mormon Stories MONTHS (Nov 2025) before the exmormon podcast did an episode on Wade Christofferson (Feb 2026). Implying a causal connection between these two is just not it.

Once upon a time in Los Angeles I was at the El Segundo practice facility of the LA Kings In the summer of 2006 I knew in the summer there were pro skates So I went and watched a practice run by Nelson Emerson. There were lots of pros there Kings including Rob Blake who would eventually be my neighbor in South Bay and non Kings like Anson Carter and Alex Mogliny and I think Chelios skated that summer. But 2 players stood out And so I asked Nelson 'who's the guy in the Green "Bad Boys Forever" Jersey?' "Thats Evgeni Malkin, but don't tell anyone." He was of course on the down low having 'escaped' his handlers trying to keep him in Russia and a week later would sign his first NHL contract. The other guy I noticed was a tall young guy ... and I asked: "Is that Kopitar?" Nelson said "Yes, he'll be in the AHL this year." To which I replied "Thats the second best guy on the ice, that would be really surprising." Kopitar was from Slovenia which wasn't exactly known as a hockey factory so to myself included it was an curious. Just based upon what I saw though I knew her could play regardless of where he was from. And of course he never played a day in the AHL and six seasons later he lead them to the first of 2 Stanley Cups It was an insane time to be a Kings fan. Seeing Kopitar retire is surreal... and it leaves a giant hole in a unlikely hockey city that has had their star studded eras of Marcel Dionne, Luc Robitaille and then of course Wayne Gretzky ... legendary each for their own reason but -- none as great in terms of peak success and longevity as the Kopitar-Doughty-Quick era. Crazy that Quick has retired the same year and I remember scouting Drew Doughty in the OHL during his draft year. Anyways my journey to the US and specifically Southern California.... mirrored a lot of the peak years of this Kings rise and success and so thanks to Anze and of course Quick for all the memories. Including all the off ice ones in the South Bay where we all lived amongst these young stars. I hope the Kings can recapture that magic again. #anzekopitar #kopitar #gokingsgo #lakings

If L.A.’s closer didn’t shit the bed twice, the Yankees would’ve just gotten swept at home by the Angels in a four-game home series so I’m posting it.

My phone my customization. @Apple conversation names should be personal. What if the chosen name doesn’t make sense to the group. For example, me naming a thread with my parents as “parents.” This makes zero sense for my parents’ phones, but makes complete sense for me.

@EricCMeadows @BYUbluThru They can ask all they want. Few bishops will actually cut people off. The speakers at general conference are polished and know how to keep to a time limit. Comparing the two meetings is ridiculous.

@BYUbluThru I know, but they can control when the meeting is ends by asking speakers to watch the clock, and they can cut verses from closing hymns.

Note to bishops everywhere. General Conference never goes long. It occasionally goes short. This is the pattern to follow for sacrament meetings, especially with the new schedule.

@Corvid91827364 @GlennYoungkin I’m not up to speed on Virginia law, but it seems clear that there is a process by which the law can change by popular vote. The people have a right to change their mind.

@JefferySmith13 @GlennYoungkin If the question was well written, sure. However, its spitting in the face of the people in Virginia since they already voted to prevent this very thing from happening: politicians drawing congressional maps

251 years ago, Patrick Henry stirred the hearts of Virginians to make a stand against tyranny with the words “Give me liberty or give me death.” Today, Virginians can carry that spirit of liberty against tyranny with just one word: “NO.” Join me in voting NO on the far-left’s unconstitutional gerrymander and get 10 friends to do the same between now and April 21st. We all need to fight in one direction against this blatantly political power grab that overturns the will of the people.

@TheCalvinCooli1 No justification for the act. This “solves” a problem that doesn’t exist. Congress should focus on bills that actually solve real problems. I doubt any actually exist. Feckless legislatures. Everything is for the camera. And nothing gets done.

More great moments in robot umpiring. Andy Fletcher just rang up back-to-back Orioles hitters on 3-2 pitches… And they both challenged. So Weston Wilson changed his K to a walk, but Sam Huff wasn’t as lucky (as you can see)

@JohnStephenNH You seem to have forgotten the US constitution, Article VI, Clause 2 (supremacy clause): [federal law] "shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."

A federal judge just denied New Hampshire's motion to stay a court order that would force the state into a contract the Executive Council rejected. The Council has existed since 1679. For 350 years, no state contract moves forward without our consent. That doesn't change because a federal judge says so.

The stated reason for so many of the rule changes is time. They want to speed up the game. So they’ve added stoppages as a matter of progress. ABS may finally get me to stop watching my favorite sport. What a monstrosity. I’m in the minority, to be sure.
Jeff Fletcher@JeffFletcherOCR

The best part of the ABS (as far as I'm concerned) is all the stories it's going to create. The Angels are learning how to use it. ocregister.com/2026/02/25/ang…
