Data matters. So does confidence. Before testing, my 2nd graders wrote letters to themselves. Teaching kids to believe in themselves will always be part of my curriculum. 🤍 @PoincianaCCPS @collierschools

Chris and I were supposed to fly to LA today to see @IUHoosiers crush Alabama in the Rose Bowl. Instead, I am praying things are calm enough here that I can watch the game in ICU. Chris is still off the vent and breathing on his own, but not awake. Hoping he wakes up today. 🙏🏻📿

@MrAndyNgo Ok… now tell us what it’s called when an administration tells private companies to suppress voices on social media?

Fascism arrives when a broadcast network suspends a late-night host for six days for lying. It’s a page from the same playbook that put Hitler in power.

So, what now? You can feel it though, can’t you? Something is stirring. It is bigger than one man, bigger than one moment, bigger than politics or headlines. When thousands of believers gather in grief and instead of despair they lift up the name of Jesus, that is not ordinary. That is the Spirit of God pressing against the seams of a nation that has been asleep too long. Revival is never announced with confetti or firecrackers. It starts when hearts break, when tears fall, when people decide they are done playing church and they want the real thing. That is what we are watching right now. This ache in our souls is not just grief, it is hunger. This trembling we feel is not fear, it is expectancy. God always moves in the cracks. He always shows up when the world says the story is over. Jesus was crucified, buried, sealed behind stone, and then the Spirit of God shook the ground and rolled the stone away. See the pattern? Out of death comes life. Out of shaking comes awakening. Out of silence comes a roar. We press in now, not by waiting for the next big event, not by hoping someone else will carry the torch. We press in by bending low before the Lord in repentance and rising up in holy boldness. This is not about personalities. This is about Jesus. This is about whether we as a people will return to our first love. Revival is not a tent meeting. It is a heart set on fire. It is parents praying over children at the breakfast table. It is teenagers deciding purity is more powerful than compromise. It is business leaders choosing integrity over greed. It is ordinary Christians refusing to be silent when the name of Jesus is mocked. The Spirit of God is not politely knocking on America’s door, He is rattling it. He is saying, “Wake up, my people. The time is short. The harvest is ready. Will we be the generation that says yes?” Do not miss this. Do not let this pass by and say, “Wasn’t that powerful back then?” The Spirit is not a memory, He is a fire. Fan it. Feed it. Live it. Because revival is not coming. Revival is HERE. It is not waiting for someone else to carry it. It is waiting for you. Come, Lord Jesus.

This is NOT leadership. Refusing to say the victim's name, refusing to say that a criminal is a criminal, refusing to acknowledge what is destroying this once-proud city. Charlotte doesn't have to be this way. What's it going to take, voters? You waiting until it's YOU?

If this statement from Vi Lyles doesn't make you seethe with anger, then you are as beyond hope as she is. Her hubris is shocking, as the level and volume of her clueless perception and reaction. meckburbia.blogspot.com/2025/08/vi-lyl…

130 kids learning financial literacy in the middle of the “worst neighborhood” in the City.. News hasn’t tried to cover it once, but let something negative happen in this neighborhood. That doesn’t matter though. We just keep doing the work.

I am overly proud of our Financial Literacy Summer Program. The kids did an awesome job this week learning about budgeting, planning, and staying away from bad debt. This Summer is way bigger than basketball. S/o Midwest America Federal Credit Union for facilitating. #CrewLife

➡️ North Carolina Patriots did it first! Did your history teacher get it wrong, too? Most folks think the Declaration of Independence happened in 1776—and sure, that’s when it was signed up in Philly. But let me tell you something they forgot to mention in your textbooks: North Carolina beat ‘em to it. May 20, 1775—that’s when a group of bold, fed-up North Carolinians gathered right here in Mecklenburg County and said, “That’s it. We’re DONE.” No more British overreach, no more unjust taxes, no more sitting quietly. They wrote their own declaration. Yep, before Jefferson, before Congress, before July 4th made it on a T-shirt. And what did they say? They said they were “a FREE and independent people,” governed only by their God and a general congress of their choosing—not a king an ocean away. That took guts. That made them traitors in the eyes of the Crown. And one brave soul, Captain James Jack, got on horseback and rode all the way to Philadelphia to deliver the Mecklenburg Declaration to our reps up there. Over 700 miles. No GPS, no paved roads—just a message that freedom had already been declared down South. But the big wigs in Congress? They brushed it off. Jefferson even mocked it, claiming folks in Carolina weren’t smart enough to write something so bold and eloquent. Joke’s on him, because when he did pen the official Declaration a year later—well, let’s just say some of that language sounded mighty familiar. So today, May 20th, don’t let the moment pass you by. This is our day—North Carolina’s Independence Day. And whether you’re in Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, or anywhere else in this proud state, take a minute to honor the courage it took to write freedom on paper before the rest of the country caught up. Know your history. Be proud of your people. And never let anybody tell you Carolina didn’t lead the way. @dogwoodblooms

8th grade kids in Western North Carolina invited leaders from the City of Asheville to come look at their plans to rebuild our beloved River Arts District… NO ONE SHOWED UP. WNC kids lost a lot during Hurricane Helene but they gained a deeper love of their home. I would love to have someone from @CityofAsheville hear them out.
