I’ve been advocating for families for years. Two of my four sons are non-speaking and have needed me to be their voice. That experience led me to co-found an autism charter school to help fill the gaps many families face in education. Now that education decisions are returning to the states, I’m running for school board to make sure parents are truly engaged and their rights are respected in our schools. I had the chance to speak with you at the special education roundtable, and I would be honored to earn your support.

I randomly sat next to your hubs a few weeks ago for a veterans Christmas celebration and loved listening to him talk. The way he talked about you and your years serving our country was so refreshing and inspiring. Being perfect is overrated ;) I’m grateful for both of your service

A little insight into our family. We never dreamed of this. To us, it’s about serving our community, state, and nation. Many will try to present a perfect picture; we have our boys—footballs may come out at the least opportune times—Tucker, and real life. We know what matters and prioritize “deeds not words.” We know it’s not what people say or unkept promises that will make a lasting impact; it’s our actions that will.

@AnnaRMatson Hi there. Mom of twin 16 year olds with asd level 3. My children deserve to be celebrated all day every day. All I want for them is to live happy, independent lives. Supports and services would make that possible and we have a significant gap between prevalence and treatment.
