One of a handful of giant dougies on the back forty at my mom's. They stand on guard at the foot of a ridgeline wildlife trail. From here I can see a sea of plant diversity, + I even heard a wild canine yip. #WorthMoreStanding #FindingTheMotherTree

Whatever your views on today's events, we can't help but feel sadness that a government once elected with bold promises of transformational change now seems to be on its last tumultuous legs.

There's already a lot of advanced colon cancer diagnosis because people are afraid. People need to feel empowered to get these life saving procedures if they need them. I really think your approach was unethical. Which is sad, b/c everything else in the interview was so important

.@DrGorfinkel I just listened to your interview on Radio West regarding colon cancer. What you had to say was so important, but I can't believe you spouted fear over getting a colonoscopy. They save lives and they are a very easy procedure to experience.

It is absolutely indisputable that if another party leader appeared to have fabricated something like this, Conservatives would be calling for their resignation that day. #bcpoli vancouversun.com/news/bc-corone…

BC Greens announce taskforce for MMIWG2S+ and plan to disband RCMP’s critical response unit CRU-BC VANCOUVER, BC — Today, BC Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau and Dana-Lyn Mackenzie, candidate for Vancouver-Yaletown, announced two major public safety reforms: the creation of a Taskforce for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+), and the disbanding of the RCMP’s Critical Response Unit (formerly the Community Industry Response Group, C-IRG). MMIWG2S+ Taskforce: a dedicated task force focused on investigating the alarming number of cases involving missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQI people. This taskforce will operate under civilian oversight from Indigenous communities, emphasizing women’s leadership and following the recommendations of the Red Women Rising report and the Reclaiming Power and Place report from the National Inquiry into MMIWG2S+ Disbanding the Critical Response Unit: a branch of the RCMP responsible for defending industrial interests at the expense of public and Indigenous rights, the unit has harmed relations between law enforcement and communities. This change is essential in restoring trust and rebuilding public safety systems.

Did John Rustad just threaten to force every person who has an overdose event into INVOLUNTARY CARE … even if they would choose to go voluntarily? I want to address something in tonight’s debate that I found extremely offensive. @JohnRustad4BC, you don’t know me and you don’t know my story. When @Dave_Eby pointed out your disingenuous actions by lying to me when we met on the street last month, you responded to him by saying: “Where you have somebody who ODs and is brought back to life, clearly they are not making the right decisions for themselves. We need … to get them into INVOLUNTARY TREATMENT so that they can be able to recover.” I DID NOT NEED TO BE FORCED INTO CARE JOHN, I CHOSE TO GO. I went to recovery many times, and I relapsed many times. Addiction is a CHRONIC RELAPSING DISEASE - few people succeed in recovery treatment on their first try, but thousands of us will keep VOLUNTARILY going to detox or die trying. The suggestion that you’re going to force medical treatment on people in an old, locked mental hospital — EVEN IF THEY WERE WILLING TO DO THE TREATMENT ON THEIR OWN — is offensive, outrageous, and a violation of British Columbians’ charter rights. #BCpoli #BCLeadersDebate2024

It’s essential that the patient voice be heard in these conversations. These women were harmed by the guidelines, and yet @cantaskforce thinks that they don’t need to be updated. They need to look at the outcome of the guidelines, not just randomized trials.

It was an honour to testify to the Standing Committee on the Status Of Women. Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the misinformation given to healthcare providers and the public on breast cancer screening. As a country, we can do the right thing and act now. @markhollandlib it's time to suspend the breast screening guidelines. With every passing day, we're allowing later stage diagnoses to occur and Cdn women to suffer needlessly #cdnpoli

@FairVoteCanada @SoniaFurstenau @BCGreens I wish we had a system like New Zealand! Make every riding twice the size + then each riding gets TWO MLAs one that gets elected same as now and one that gets elected from the popular vote. When you vote you vote for your candidate (the FPP seat) + for a party (rep by pop seat)

@guyfelicella my brother was inline for housing FOR people who relapse, but you have to be sober for x time before you can get in. In the days before his move he relapsed (drinking), so he lost the spot. they'd already given his current housing away, so... back on the streets.

If addiction is such a health issue like everyone says it is then why does someone who relapses while in treatment get kicked out and discharged to a shelter or the streets? This isn't a health approach‼️No need to wonder why people aren't wanting to go, and what other health condition would you treat people this way? We wouldn't.
