@ReplyGuy4Life@dantypo Keep the views up? Like having presidents or presidential candidates on? Or scientists? These podcasts have exposed us to a larger world, don't rely on sound bites too often, and most of them just want to have a civil conversation. Theo surprises me the most with his guests.
A bunch of non comedians at this point.
Rogan- barely performs.
Theo- more known for podcasts than comedy at this point
Segura- only writes jokes for his Netflix show, which seems to be just embellished versions of old jokes he told. Not funny on pods or stage anymore
Tim Dillon- more podcast famous than anything. Never was a massive standup draw. Still entertaining.
Dave Smith- literally just left comedy to become a political talking head. Which has to be a little bit of a sickness.
Schultz- hasn’t really been funny since his bait and switch fan robbery special. Is the reason many fans are tentative about buying directly from comics. And just blatantly code switches on the show he ruined when he had a good thing going.
They gotta do something to keep views up
If you’re wondering why you’re sick of the podcastistan bros, it’s very simple.
Joe Rogan (who is the only tolerable one) has on Theo Von.
Theo Von has on Andrew Schulz.
Andrew Schulz has on Dave Smith.
Dave Smith has on Tom Segura.
Tom Segura has Tim Dillon.
Tim Dillon has on Theo Von.
Theo Von has on Tim Dillion.
Tim Dillion has on Tom Segura.
Tom Segura has on Dave Smith…
And so on and so on and so on…
The problem with the majority of them is that they’re comedians who come up with maybe an hour of material a year at best and yet spend 100 hours a year trying to be what they are on stage.
It’s easy to sound smart for an hour if you hone that hour for a year.
But it’s incredibly hard to sound smart for 3 or 4 hours a week when you have to shoot from the hip.
And the real problem comes with the repeating an endless circle jerk of the circuit.
The fact of the matter is 2 or 3 or 4 guys sitting around talking about shit isn’t that funny or entertaining to people outside the circle.
My friends and I are funny as fuck… TO EACH OTHER. But I wouldn’t blame anyone for tuning us out.
@clarkisking1 He's batting .250 with RISP, and has a .294 avg when batting with 2 outs and RISP. I agree with you, he's a bit better than what it looks. Probably better than the rest of the team.
@DETTigerTruther If he still hit the occasional double or 3, I'd say keep him in. But it seems he's only going for HR's. But, as everyone knows, options are very limited.
I know he's been terrible. I know he's everyone least favorite player. I know his K rate is through the roof.
Tork has to play every day. They have 3 guys that can hit the ball out of the IF currently. He needs ample opportunity to do that for a team that can't spell power
The Tigers should definitely try and trade Framber as well at the deadline, right?
Fire sale. Skubal, Framber, Mize, Carpenter, Torres.
Get good enough returns and spend next free agency and then maybe you can be right back in the fray of a bad Central in 2027.
@cmccosky@detroitnews I admire the attitude; who wouldn't when work sucks? But troting out the same lineup, with poor performance, is the definition of insanity.
"What are you going to do, man. Give up? Whine about it? Feel sorry about ourselves? I don't. I don't feel sorry for myself...One thing I know, I don't give up on myself. This team is too good and I know I'm too good."

@the_det_times If they thought they could sign him for 3 to 5, or 7 with lots of options outs, ok. But I don't see that happening. And with prior Tommy Johns and now chips, how healthy will he stay? I do wish him well, though.
