The Post Office and Fujitsu continue to behave disgracefully. Fujitsu should be banned from any government contract until after this is fixed and Ministers should take direct control of the Post Office on this issue and make them pay. No ifs or buts. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

#PostOfficeScandal #LeeCastleton #NeverGiveIn ⚖️Two faces of Justice ⚖️- LEE CASTLETON who received his OBE for "Services to Justice'.........and then MANDY TALBOT & STEPHEN DILLEY who took a preverse pleasure in maliciously prosecuting, bankrupting and attempting to ruin Lee and his family's life. They underestimated who they were taking on. ✊ @CastletonLee @PostOffice @nickwallis @ElCShaikh @rbrooks45 @Karlfl @bryanglick @emmasimpson @Janetsk20073533 @mariaspears @WBD_UK @RollOnFridayWeb @JohnHyde1982 @sra_solicitors

I can't stop thinking of all the poets slain by tyranny. Today I hear the voice of Federico García Lorca, slain by fascists in 1936.

"It's disgusting, two decades on, we're finding new documents," says wrongly-convicted former subpostmaster Lee Castleton. He spoke out after Channel 4 News obtained a secret 2006 contract between the Post Office and Fujitsu which, despite decades of denial, shows the organisations were able to centrally alter subpostmaster accounts. The Post Office said it apologises "unequivocally for the hurt and suffering" it caused "during the Horizon IT Scandal", while Fujitsu said it would not be "appropriate" for it to comment while the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry was ongoing.

#PostOfficeScandal Tonight on @Channel4News with @JackieLongc4 there was an exclusive report by @alextomo & @NanettevdLaan that revealed for the first time a secret contract between @PostOffice and @fujitsu_uk For years, the Post Office and Fujitsu covered up the bugs in their faulty Horizon computer software, blaming the subpostmasters using it. Thousands had their lives ruined. Some took their own lives. Now Channel 4 News has obtained a 2006 contract between the two companies – overlooked despite being uploaded to the Post Office Inquiry’s website – which a forensic accountant who investigated the Horizon scandal has described as “dynamite”. Featuring @TracyF882 @CastletonLee @WarmingtonRjw @liambyrnemp The fact Post Office denied remote access was possible until days before the High Court 2nd trial in 2019 when there was a contract that was signed in 2006, shows just how far they were prepared to go to keep this document out of the public domain. For it to come to light almost 20 years after it was first signed is a disgrace. It was not disclosed to the @PostOffInquiry so that witnesses could be cross examined on it. Now it will be up to @CommonsBTC and its Chair @liambyrnemp to uncover who knew what and when, why it wasn’t disclosed and when Fujitsu are going to start contributing to the colossal financial redress bill estimated to be £1.6 billion. At the moment it is all being carried by the taxpayer. channel4.com/news/post-offi…

Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action. Together, he and his wife lived lives defined by purpose. They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless people they inspired. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved them.

There is a story that Alberto Morrocco's wife Vera, seen here at the breakfast table in the 1950s, was constantly searching for missing bowls, plates and jugs that had been commandeered for a still life, what her husband called a more important purpose than originally intended.
