@vuprlo @Shinich08413513 Because they don’t have fun songs. Plenty of us love them but some ppl can’t handle the darkness of their music and lyrics.
English

@Shinich08413513 Both bands loose their frontmen, idk why Nirvana gain the "cult" status while AIC is popular but not THAT popular.
English

Alice In Chains is more appealing and heavier than anything Nirvana Did.
I never understood why Nirvana became much more popular and seen as the best in the grunge genre when Alice In Chains Did everything Nirvana but 100 times better.

AIC > Nirvana

@betty_egg @Shinich08413513 AIC members are on record, Jerry Cantrell included, saying they always considered themselves a metal band
English

I always liked AIC way more than Nirvana as well, but honestly I don't really know why bands like AIC, Soundgarden, or even Pearl Jam were really considered to be 'grunge' anyways. I thought grunge was all about being kind of punk rock, and not caring about being musically astute or classically trained. When I think of grunge I think of bands like Nirvana, Mudhoney, or even stuff like Sonic Youth and Slint. I might be wrong according to some purist merits, but that's the vibe I get when I think of 'grunge' whereas with AIC, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam - these styles of music are basically the perfect marriage of classic rock and 90's alternative metal. They also don't sound like they're winging it either - they sound incredibly professional.
English

@WytChocTweets @Shinich08413513 Nirvana is grunge. Nevermind was such an insane album it made sure they were the gold standard of the “grunge” era. Kurt’s unfortunate death also boosted their status.
English

@Shinich08413513 Nirvana is viewed as the best Grunge band because they were the "grungiest" of all the Grunge bands. They scored a 9.7/10 on the "Grunge-O-Meter" and won first prize at The Grays Harbor County Fair. It's science.
English

@peckrnutt @Shinich08413513 I love them but I certainly could see why ppl wouldn’t. Dark heavy music.
English

@Shinich08413513 Alice in chains is industrial corporate factory rock. The aesthetic and vibe is deeply unpleasant to and feels like music for slaughterhouse line workers. It’s fine if it’s for you but it feels deeply ingenious how angry /vested people get when you don’t like them.
English

@TheGrandZero @Shinich08413513 That’s what’s hard for me with them is their music was so dark and knowing his struggle you really feel he was living those lyrics. Still somehow an awesome song. A power voice the likes we won’t see again
English

@Shinich08413513 Watching Layne perform Down In A Hole on MTV Unplugged was seriously one of the most heartbreaking things ever aired on television. The amount of pain and sorrow emanating off of him was genuinely hard to watch.
English

@Shinich08413513 AIC is for sad dads.
Nirvana is for angry kids.
English

@marthanoir39 @Shinich08413513 One of the absolute best eras in music. And it’s hard to go wrong with any of the bars you mentioned along with soundgarden and a few others. AIC was more heavy metal like Metallica. Nirvana played loud fun mostly fast rebel music. AIC were dark and deep
English

I hate grunge. Always did, always will. It's insipid, whiny bullshit from a bunch of spoiled, entitled upper middle class kids who just wanted to cry about something and seem angsty. That said, if any grunge era acts deserve the title of 'best' in a like of garbage, it's not AIC or Nirvana, it's Pearl Jam

@absolut3m3nac3 @escapefrommelos But why would someone glue their rocks?

@escapefrommelos Ah yes, "everything I don't personally like should be illegal." What a great and not-at-all narcissistic outlook on the world.

2 years ago today. Jannik Sinner failed a 2nd drug test, with the banned performance enhancing substance, Clostebol found in his system. For almost anyone else this would have meant a lengthy ban.
But for Sinner he was allowed to keep playing and was treated like a rockstar.

@Jetflight1017 @vanshv2k 😂 Don't need to cope, I couldn't care less about that liar. Sincaraz have benefitted from the worst era of all time, it's just a fact. The #5 player in the world has only won a 250 and it was 3 years ago 😂 It would be pathetic if Sinner lost to them. But he lost to gramps 😂
