This is beyond incompetent. @Verizon, your system is broken, your support is broken, and you have wasted my time, my energy, and now you’re threatening my credit over your own failures. Absolutely disgusting.

I switched from Mint to Verizon and it has been the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. @Verizon I couldn’t receive verification texts from merchants, so I contacted Verizon support through online chat. They wasted 14 hours of my weekend and fixed absolutely nothing.

Calling support is another endless wait, and when someone finally answers, they ask for a security PIN I don’t have, then tell me to go to a store AGAIN.

After all that, I transferred out to another carrier — and Verizon is STILL sending me new bills. Now they’re threatening to send it to a third-party collection agency. Their website just says my account is suspended for nonpayment and blocks me from using online chat.

I got so fed up that I canceled. Verizon agreed to waive all charges because of the free trial policy. But when I asked for my transfer PIN, they said they couldn’t text me, so I had to go to a store. I went to two stores because the first store in Google Maps is not official.

Support literally told me I could safely ignore it and not reply — but if I didn’t reply, they closed the case anyway. So I had to start over again. And again. And again.

Every time I finally reached a human, they made me repeat the same useless troubleshooting steps from the beginning, then told me to wait while they “worked on it.” Meanwhile the chat window would auto-close for “inactivity.”

Entering the industry to develop quantum chemistry (QM) software, many friends told me the commercial upside seemed limited—even combining well-known packages like Gaussian and VASP wouldn’t make a “big industry.” However, I take a more optimistic view linkedin.com/posts/jiashuli…
