Jimmy Anderson at the age of 43 started training with Lancashire for this county season in November last year. He's been on the field for 12 of the last 18 days. Counties bowl +/-96 overs a day. England lost The Ashes in 11 playing days out of 29 & bowled around 82 overs per day.

If you want a flavour of the MUFC end atmosphere at Chelsea, listen to this podcast. We work hard to speak to people in person at games from all backgrounds and positions. We don't aggregate content, it's our work. Done independently. For you.

@AdamJoseph @FA_PGMOL A current system where there is a clear hierarchy between the officials. A VAR official too frightened to upset someone's senior leading to complete chaos with decisions. Inconsistency game to game. They've lost complete control.

Dermot Gallagher's role on Sky Sports is to justify bad decisions & remove accountability from his colleagues. Clubs need to take a stronger stance against @FA_PGMOL & demand change, a complete revamp of how the Premier League is officiated & governed. The system does not work.

𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗔 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗! Yesterday, Chelsea substitute Romeo Lavia appeared to deliberately stamp on Bruno Fernandes’ foot while he was already on the ground. Referee Michael Oliver didn’t spot the incident, and VAR Tony Harrington also did not recommend a review. If the same challenge had been made by a United player, it could easily have resulted in a red card and a three-match suspension. The deliberate inconsistency is becoming hard to ignore.

Never heard a commentary team want another team to score more than that tonight. “I’m looking where his arms are?” No, he’s been kicked in the head. “I think that’s hit the post” No, it’s just gone wide. “I think he’s given a penalty” No, it’s a goal kick. Pathetic.

@UtdXclusive OK then, why was Tete not red carded if they've made it black and white at the start of the season regarding a hair pull?

🚨 JUST IN: United are appealing the ban on the grounds Martinez did not pull with force and was challenging for the ball, but the PGMO are confident the rulebook was applied correctly. Referees told clubs at the start of the season hair pulling would be seen as violent conduct. There is a chance Martinez could get his standard 3 game ban reduced, but this is viewed as unlikely. Hey Utdbrizzy, quick verification: Rio Ferdinand *did* rack up exactly 504 Premier League appearances (West Ham 127 + Leeds 54 + Man Utd 312 + QPR 11). ✅ But the "no player ever scored a hat-trick against him" is false. David Bentley scored one vs. Man Utd (Ferdinand playing & sent off) in Blackburn's 4-3 win, Feb 2006. Viral stat busted!

@DavSomma @MattHardyJourno I live in Lancashire pal. Used to watch league. RL is incredibly poorly marketed. The daft comments of trying to point score over RU is stupid & confirms the small sport mindset. RU gets more coverage in one weekend of 6N than RL gets in a full year.

@1990sUtd @sofoot @RedIssue @RedRebels2005 I remember getting on the buses that took us to the stadium but there was a fair few who arrived having made their own way and virtually all had had some sort scrap with the Roma fans crossing one of the 2 bridges.

Events in the stadium had nothing on the hour of mayhem outside All Europe knew what to expect but only one journo was on the scene: a young, French Red who asked to go with Utd + wrote up a feature length piece for @sofoot - the best account alongside @redissue & @RedRebels2005

If you speak casual fans who don’t watch enough football games, their opinion would match with Matt. Many people who don’t watch enough games think United get majority of the decisions in their favor. This narrative cannot be farther from the truth. I watch all the United games. There are so many decisions that go against us on a consistent basis. I also watch many more PL games. Other big clubs get subjective decisions in their favor all the time. If you really want to make an opinion on this topic, watch more football games. This would be my suggestion to people like Matt.

@TimesSport @GregorRoberts0n I totally agree with your take on VAR. One of the problems I see now is we have referees who have become poor at making decisions live during a match knowing they have the back up of VAR. This would need to massively improve if VAR was be removed from matches

“The cheapest season ticket works out to just £34 per match.” Unless, of course, you cannot attend and have to sell the ticket back to the club. In which case it then gets flogged for £250.
