Our RAPPL purification of ribosomes and associated material is finally out. I am really proud of this study in collaboration primary with @slavicaPD lab, as well as Marko Jovanovic and @Hashemyaser4 Labs. This method aims to replace 60 years old purification of ribosomes by sucrose cushions by Britten and Roberts. rdcu.be/ezlhg

Sharing some of my PhD work that just came out today. TLDR; We found a universal mechanism for all the many kinds of SNAREs are processed and recycled by a single molecular machine that is conserved in all eukaryotic life as we know it (1/5) nature.com/articles/s4159…

Ever wondered how several individual RBPs cooperate to repress translation? To figure it out, we simultaneously tracked the binding of several proteins to single mRNA molecules in real-time! Lead by @MarcoPayr and great collaboration with Hennig lab! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Using reporters with long unstructured 5’ UTRs, we examined which initiation factors are limiting for 40S scanning. Our results&literature led us to the model that 40S scans 5’ UTRs by one-dimensional diffusion rather than helicase-driven translocation. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
