@virtuosamujer31 @kbo_coyote @pimomormon According to my reality, humans exist. I’ve seen, smelled, touched, tasted, heard them. I can’t say the same for god despite praying and studying the bible. I’m open to the existence of a creator or supernatural being, but so far I’m not convinced

God said Adam and Eve would “surely die” the same day they ate the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve almost lived (according to the Bible) for a thousand years. And we’re told that god tells the truth?

@milkandglitter @Daily_MailUS Theists claim that reading the bible “properly” leads to the same conclusion, but then also disagree with others’ interpretations of the scripture. Why is there no clear “correct” instruction for how to read and interpret?

@Daily_MailUS Thats not a new analysis Thats the logical conclusion for anyone that reads it properly Humans can't even decipher it and find all the cross references and meaning after thousands of years, it's depth way beyond the human brain

@Travis_Kling @Daily_MailUS When the books of the New Testament were being written, do you think the authors didn’t have access to the books of the old testament? I would think it stranger if the didn’t have connections. One could call them “call backs.”

I think it's really good in these instances to not overstate the case. When you dig into the methodology of that study that produces this 63k cross references number, it is kinda shaky IMO. It's just a very inclusive number. But there are much “tighter” estimates as well that I think are much stronger and still drive the point home - there are at least 295 rock solid separate references in the New Testament to scriptures in the Old Testament, including 225 direct citations. There are another 300+ if you include “strong allusions” to previous scriptures. So even if it’s not really 63k but something closer to “many hundreds” - it’s still really impressive. And to be clear, I think the Bible is far and away the most important document in human history and God and Jesus are huge parts of my life.

@TheSkepticWiz The New Testament changed all the old law that you atheists like to cite as if it's the last word in the Bible.

@TheSkepticWiz Everything Moses said in the Old Testament was counted as God’s words, which is not. If the Old Testament were perfect, there would be no need for a New Testament. It was the imperfection in the Old Testament that brought about the New.

@kaizen000000000 "Atheists are fact-based, not belief-based." Any plans you make for tomorrow or the future are based on a belief that day will arrive. It, however, is not a fact that it will.

Christians can't comprehend that Atheists DONT BELIEVE IN ANYTHING. Atheists are fact-based, not belief-based. I grew up going to catholic school and church, but I was smart enough to connect the dots and know religion is a sham.

A woman on Instagram said: My husband and I go out to dinner and order lobster dishes at $50 each and the table next to us order burgers at $15 each. Why do we have to leave a bigger tip than the other table when we had the same waitress and got the same service?

@wperrottoiii @D_Preacher_1 Absolutely. My faith started wavering when I was about 17. I did daily devotions for years & as my questions grew all I was ever told was to get into the word and read read read. Once I stopped reading cherrypicked guided passages and read it as a whole, the illusion was broken.

@D_Preacher_1 That is why the majority of us turned atheist as we knew what we were reading, read, had to be a crock'o'fecalmatter. Having noted more contradictions than a 2 year olds novel explaining the gothic era, in readable text.

@RealPostFolder Circle of life. Every generation thinks they’re IT, that THEY are the mountain top and they think it’s going to last forever. In reality it lasts for like 10 years and they spend the rest of their life being mad at the people coming up after them.

@Bridgetoluwande @_OKJ__ Why isn’t there clearer instruction in the bible to help the reader identify what’s to be taken literally and what’s allegory/metaphor? Even theists can’t agree…

The story of the fall in the garden of eden is an incredibly stupid story. It’s like a father who puts their child in a room with a venomous snake, then tells the child not to touch or go near the snake, knowing fully well that the child has absolutely no understanding of the consequences of touching the snake and then seriously punishing the child and all the child’s descendants that have absolutely nothing to do with the initial event, for being bitten by the snake. And then calling the father all loving and good. No story ever written is more stupid.
