Actually, no. Reality is reality. Perception based on false information is not reality. This is what the right-wing did with voter "fraud." They created the illusion of a problem and then demanded a solution (change the laws). The DOJ's obligation is to follow the law.

Yesterday’s votes were a BFD not only because we passed Infrastructure, but also because we passed the rule that allows #BuildBackBetter to be voted on by Nov 15. Passage of the rule was critical. That would not have happened without the extraordinary leadership of @RepJayapal.
